Winter Escape
The hotel is located in a slightly remote area but still within walking distance to Old Town and Center of Riga. If you are planning to take taxis (I had to do it a lot) then I would recommend asking the front desk to call for the cheapest taxi service. They will know who to call, if you do it on your own you might overpay for taxis. Excellent Pub downstairs, good free breakfast. Enjoyed it a lot!

A bit noisy from surrounding rooms. Breakfastroom not very nice, and quality of breakfast not ok. otherwise calm area and very spacious room.

Excellant Hotel & Pub Restaurant
The front desk was friendly and very helpful. We ask them a lot of questions and they were always helpful and spoke excellant English. Breakfast was included and I thought quite good with lots of variety. At night the restaurant I thought was excellant and ate most of our evening meals there. Our room was nice with a view of the church and excellant shower and great beds.

Short walk from hotel
The Opera is a short walk or taxi ride and the value for the money is unbelievable. It is a do not miss in Riga experience. It is a shorter walk to old town if you go right from the hotel and right through the central market.

Riikassa monetta kertaa
Hotelli sijaitsi hieman "slummi" alueella mutta lähellä/kävelymatkan päässä ydin keskustasta. Seutu kuitenkin tuntui turvalliselta ja poliiseja pyörikin paljon alueella. Hotellin oma taksi kuskasi aina tarvittaessa edullisesti ostarille sekä lentoasemalle. Aamupala oli keskinvertainen jopa riikan tasoon verrattuna. Huone todella siisti sekä henkilökunta ystävällistä. Hieman oli huonekorttien kanssa ongelmia ja jouduttiin ramppaamaan respassa useaan otteseen jotta päästiin huoneeseen sisään. Tuttavien huoneessa ei tätä ongelmaa ollut. Mukava hotelli kokemus mutta ei todellakaan vedä vertoja aikaisimpiin riikan hotelleihin missä ollaan yövytty. Kokeilimme myös viimeisenä iltana hotellin omaa ravintolaa ja siellä oli hyvä ruoka!

Porukassa matkaaville ok
Hanza oli kaikenkaikkiaan hyvä hotelli. Matkan keskustaan jaksoi kävellä hyvin ja lähistöllä oli mm. keskustori ja Riian Ghettomuseo, mutta viimeisenä päivänä saimme kuulla eräältä hotellin työntekijältä että hotellin alue ei ole kaikista turvallisin ja kehoitti meitä, kahta nuorta naista, käyttämään mieluummin taksia kuin kävelemään ympäriinsä. Tämän jälkeen tajusimmekin että alueella näki paljon poliiseja etenkin iltaisin. Muuten Hanza oli mukava. Ravintola/pubin hintataso oli ok ja tunnelma hyvä. Aamiainen maittoi ja henkilökunta oli todella ystävällistä. Huone oli karun yksinkertainen mutta toimiva, kylpyhuone todella hieno. Suosittelen kaveriporukoille joilla on varaa mennä hotellilta taksilla ympäriinsä, mutta en lapsiperheille. Mainittakoon vielä että mitään ötököitä ei hotellilla näkynyt, luteita ja torakoita ei siis tarvitse täällä pelätä!

Lovely place!
The location is good, old town and main shopping areas are within walking distance. The area is nice and quiet. If you want to splash out a bit upgrade your room with a reasonable price. In winter time there is absolutely magnificant dinner offer in the Hanza Pub, four course menu in 15€. We really recommend that. Also the breakfast was delicious. Friendly staff, we will come back!

Joulu Rigassa
Siisti hiljattain uusittu hotelli. Kaikki tarvittava löytyy. Huonointa on sijainti! Hotelli ei varsinaisesti ole kaukana keskustasta, mutta sijaitsee ränsistyneellä alueella, jonne kävelymatka pimeällä on pelottava. Ei kivaa etenkään yksin matkustavalle. Sijaitsee väärässä suunnassa.

Mukava, turvallinen perushotelli
Olimme Hanzassa 2 yötä (ma-ke). Henkilökunta respassa ja tarjoilijat olivat todella ystävällisiä, jopa siivoja vaihtoi muutaman sanan kanssamme lähtiessämme. Hotellissa on myös oma autokuski ("taksi") joka ajoi meidät lähtöpäivänä vielä erään suomalaisen luokse. Mikäli menussa olevia juomia tai ruokia ei ollut sillä hetkellä tarjolla (mm. lähellä sulkemisaikaa ja johtuen ilmeisesti alkuviikosta?) niin meille ehdotettiin heti jotain toista vaihtoehtoa, joka osottautui yhtä hyväksi. Hotellilta on kävelymatka vanhaan kaupunkiin, mutta mikäli viettää aikaansa siellä kovin myöhään kannattaa varmaan ottaa taksi takaisin. Aamiainen on mielestäni monipuolinen ja hyvä. Meillä oli mukava kahden hegen huone 2 kerroksessa. Hintakaan ei ollut päätä huimaava, joten voin ehdottomasti suositella tätä hotellia.
