Since 1878, overlooking the picturesque Opera Garden, the magnificent Hotel Riga has been located in the heart of Riga and is a neighbour to the National Opera and Freedom Monument. Having been restored and revitalised, its distinctive charm and hospitality will offer you an experience of unparalleled heritage, warmth and service. In the 19th century, Hotel Riga was originally the impressive Hotel de Rome, built in 1878. During the war, the elegant building was destroyed and in 1956, a completely new, grand, 6-floor hotel building was constructed. It was named after the capital of Riga and aimed to be a symbol of hospitality for the city. From business meetings to grand celebrations, from seminars to warm family jubilees, the range of conference and banqueting rooms combine with long-standing service to create a memorable event. The hotel offers 4 conference rooms for 30 to 250 people and 3 banqueting halls for 120 to 300 people. Full service and technical equipment is provided. Catering requests will be fulfilled by the Palm Garden restaurant. All rooms have a modern interior, light elegance and comfortable amenities, accompanied by an excellent view of the old town or opera garden. Not what I expected

The first room they gave us was on the last floor, freezing cold and did not heat up in 3 hours while we were taking a walk outside, so we asked for another, which was better. The personal hygiene items smelled awful, especially the soap. The bedsheets were clean but we found hairs in the bathtub. The staff was acting like we were constantly disturbing them and they had better things to do. Smiling was not an option. The elevator went a bit crazy and blocked between floors for half a minute, only several hours after it had been out of use for checking. I had altogether very different expectations from a 4-stasr hotel in the center of such a beautiful city. There are some good points though: Very convenient location, and breakfast was great.

Old Riga

Hotel is in the perfect location. Just in the middle of everything. Rooms are older and in need of renovation, but still fine.

Not what I expected

The hotel is in the city center, location is great. Airport bus stops in front. I guess this a historic hotel, the rooms are big but very tacky modern look. Bathroom is big compared to most EU hotels. Staff was a little rude, did not let me check it 15 min. early? Breakfast was standard. Rooms do not have AC so you must keep the window open and let's in the city noise...I think for the same price you can find another city center hotel.

Excellent location, close to the

Excellent location, close to the old city and centre, short walk to the public airport bus. Room was spacious, but rather cold. Friendly and helpful personnel. Breakfast was ok, but pretty simple and basic. Anyway, if we go to Riga again, will stay here again.

good central location for bus

good central location for bus and train stations.Currently undergoing renovations so normal terrace restaurant not in use.

Perfect location just few minutes

Perfect location just few minutes walk from Old Town. I have been there earlier and I will be there again.

Perfect location for those who

Perfect location for those who would like to spend most of the time in Old Town and/or shopping. Old Zeppelin halls where markets are is also only few houndres meters away.

Keskitasoa loistosijainnilla

Aivan loistava sijainti, lyhyt matka kaikkiin keskeisiin Riikan nähtävyyksiin ja ostospaikkoihin. Osa henkilökunnasta oli hieman töykeää, osa taas todella sydämellisiä ja palvelualttiita. Hotellissa piti olla ravintola, mutta se oli kiinni koko vierailumme ajan. Käytävät ja huoneet olivat karut, mutta siistit. Aamiaistarjoilu oli huono, välillä esim. levite oli loppu kokonaan pitkän aikaa, juustot ja leikkeleet seisoivat pitkään lämpimässä ja leipävalikoima oli niukka.
