Istana Hotel Kuala Lumpur

I don't know why they are not responding to my request. They keep saying "wait!" but never "do" it.. or never properly explain. i don't even want to say more about that hotel. also breakfast at the hotel is way too expensive regarding its quality. never have breakfast there.

The room was very clean except for some kind of leak in the bathroom. The issue was promptly addressed. The service was excellent. The hotel is in excellent location - 2 minute walk to Raja Chulan monorail station which has trains to go to KL sentral station. 15 minute walk to Petronas towers and Pavilion mall (Bukit Bintang area). This hotel was definitely a good deal for the price. Would definitely recommend.

We spent 3 days 2 nights in Kuala Lumpur and enjoyed the stay at Hotel Instana very much. Room was clean and comfy (althought I was surprised by the BIG tube style TV). Staff was very very friendly and accommodating. We checked out at noon but they stored our luggage and allowed us to shower and change 8 hours later as our flight departed around midnight. Also, location was great, just a block from many places to eat and 2 malls. KLCC is also near by.

First we were wowed by the nice building they have, and the hotel smells great too like scent from Lovely Lace brand which is my fav. The receptionist guy was just so so, not that nice, but the check-in & check-out process was so easy. The room was surprisingly great! The Club Suite where my parents stayed, and Deluxe Room where me & my husband stayed--both were great. They have a very cold air conditioner even though i already turned it off (don't know where it from). They provide tools for ironing which i found it helpful, and the bathroom was sleek too, even though i found some spots of someone/past guest's red lipstick at the white door they have. Overall, this is a great place to stay and i would love to stay there again.

traditional hotel, very well located, with view to Petronas and KL tower. kind of old however comfortable. the staff was helpful to the extent they could understand english.

We stayed at Istana during our honeymoon, the staff was incredibly friendly and the lobby was beautiful. After seeing the lobby, which really is breathtaking, I expected the rooms to be in mint condition. I found the rooms a bit run down, the bathroom had mold in the grout and the a built in wall hair dryer from the 60's, which was stained and very tired. The bed was incredibly hard. The location was great, there was a metro station in walking distance and most of the KL sites. The restaurant in the hotel was unbelievable! The room itself was unmemorable and nothing special.

V convenient spot for shopping. Rooms are big and bright and service and response very prompt. Had to call for help to open the safe and the staff was at my door within 5 min. Same when I had a small problem with the kettle. Helpful and smiley frontline staff. Happy++

They allowed us to check in early at 11.30 am and the room was fabulous. Overslept, nearly missed breakfast but the waiters and waitresses kindly helped us gather pastries and yoghurts and served us all the while they were trying to clean up for lunch. Another couple was later than us. They were still served. Definitely the best service one could ask for! Thanks a million!

fantastic. the name says it all. it's a palace great service & food. my fridge had a problem & it was replaced in 10 mins. MALCOLM QLD AUSTRALIA

The receptionist gave me a free upgrade to clubroom when my deluxe room was not yet ready upon my arrival at 2 pm. The hotel service was very warming and the room was clean, comfortable and the breakfast was fabulous!
