The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained but the decoration looks a little bit old fashion. The sun umbrellas does not work very well in the pool area and the beach beds are uncomfortable. Still is the best option in Acapulco at this price.

Thoroughly enjoyable. We went with this for the value to get a warm beach vacation in during the winter. Acapulco is 90 degree weather during the "winter". A 6star resort this is not, but for the price we were very pleased. Beach front in the main Acapulco bay, easy access to great restaurants, the cliff divers, isla roqueta, CiCi waterpark where you can swim with a dolphin for $75, etc

I would like to say it was ok. The room was great. I mean one of the best rooms and view that I have ever had. Now on the other hand I do not speak spanish. When I first arrived I could not be checked in because the two people at the front desk did not speak any english. Luck for me my partner is Mexican so I had him check us in. So next we go to the resturant and my partner goes to the bathroom and I thought I would order, wrong again the staff in the resturant did not speak english (btw the food in the resturant was the worst). So this place is great for someone who speaks spanish and eats somewhere else.

Stayed on the 8th floor for 4 nights - lovely views from the balcony. Hotel pools were great, especially the infinity pool. plenty of loungers and I loved the Bali beds. Direct access to the beach where there were cabanas if you wanted to be in the shade. Location is suberb - opposite the Diana shopping Mall and Cineplex with plenty of restaurants close by. We ate in either El Fogon or Las Metates restaurants, just across the road, every morning as the hotel buffet, at mx$192, was, we thought, overpriced. However, the drinks in the bar weren't. Cocktails at $65 and beers $35. There are also small kitchens in the rooms with a microwave, fridge and freezer. But, with restaurant food so cheap ..... however, good for a cuppa first thing. Remember to bring your own teabags/coffee For sightseeing: 3 recommendations: El Fuerte de San Diego, La Quebrada and the Clavadistas and a boat trip - we took Victoria V - mx$95 for an hour and a half with commentary and an on board clavadista!

We were a little surprised

This hotel was a good base to visit several nice beach locations. We were however surprised that about 40 Federal Police moved in during the second half of our stay. Our group was somewhat concerned. Also the staff has a very poor command of English. I realize that we are in their country but since tourism is a very important part of their culture, I don't think that its unreasonable for the wait staff to have a basic understanding of the foods that they serve with such a limited menu. The last day that we were there no one at our table of four got what they ordered at breakfast.

"Familiar" means families and there were lots of little kids, well behaved and restricted to two of the five pools. I was the only gringo, which is fine and made me aware that I was in another country rather than the golden zone high rise hotels which are like Miami or Cancun. The only problem was noise: young neighbors who played loud, bad music 20 hours a day (I got my room changed); a terrible band in the outdoors bar til 11:00pm weekends; and a children's birthday party under a tent that sounded like chuck e cheese's til 10:00pm. Otherwise, the price, service, location, view and helpful staff were great.

La Siesta was under renovation. My room was clean but the water pressure was very low. The pool area was small and next to a vacant lot filled with debris. The BIGGEST disappointment was the distance from the hotel to the main ave(Costera Miguel Blvd). Leaving the hotel, the walk is about a 1/2 mile to a 1 mile downhill. If you are not in good shape, getting back to the hotel walking uphill will almost kill you. Walking to Costera Miguel Blvd may not be for you, take a taxi instead!!! Next time I will definitely stay at a beachfront hotel on the main ave.

I loved the breakfast buffet. Lots of stairs and no elevators here. Stayed here for the cliff divers and the great view that this hotel offers of the ocean and sunset. Staff is great but the hotel is outdated and in a desperate need of an update. They don't even have access to the internet!

Very relaxing resort atmosphere

  • 16 Nov 2011
This is a very nice resort hotel with great views, nice pools, ambiance, and very helpful staff. It is a little away from the town which is what we were looking for and suited us perfectly. However there was shopping close by - even within a 15 minute walk if you were iclined to walk rather than take a taxi. Our room in the Princessa tower was very spacious, with 2 closets, a balcony with a great view. However, it needs a facelift. The tub and toilet porcelain was chipped and the balconies seemed to need some minor repair. But never the less it was a very nicely appointed comfotable room with great airconditioning. But overall it was a very relaxing vacation and we would definitely recommend it to others. By the way, though we were cautioned about safety concerns in Mexico we never felt uncomfortable or threatened while getting to or from the hotel.

The elevator only goes up at lobby and won't stop at any level when goes down unless you call the reception and reserve the service 10 minutes before. It takes another 10 minutes if you miss it. The facilities are old but acceptable. The lobby is crowed and not clean. I don't get why it is a four star hotel. Anyway, I won't come back again and recommend it either.

I arrived on thursday and left Sunday. I couldn't sleep until 6am on any night because the music on the bar outside is unbelievably loud. I couldn't hear properly for a week after the vacation, but the doctor said my hearing should return, which it did. Sort of unbelievable. I had one of the nicer ocean facing rooms on the 14 th floor, but still loud.

We enjoyed little beach, very safe for kids. Happy hour was good (mexican beers and tequilas); kids free at breakfast was a good deal! Hotel location is far from downtown Acapulco and Diamante and very prived, 2kms driven from principal way. many stairs, so watch kids and ederly persons. Hotel prohibited you came with your own meal or groceries, even drinks. Parking is 6 dollar everyday! Should be included. Overall good place.

Check in was smooth and pleasant. Room comfortable with extended LR area and balcony with sea view. Air conditioning was noisy and water just lukewarm for most of the stay (ok it was so hot outside we did not feel it to be a bother). Pools and beach very pleasant, quiet bay was very nice to swim in for my 8 year old son. Poolside service was very good. Restaurant Las Velas was just okay, very slow service. If you are looking to be away from the crowded Acapulco Bay/downtown scene this is the place for you. However you will need a car/taxi to get anywhere.

The first boutique design hotel in Acapulco. Is a magical place full of design and architecture, where a number of factors combine to give life to the hotel, as the light that filters through all seasons of the hotel giving us a different view, creating wonderful scenes full of color and texture of nature that is one of the most important because it integrates architecture, giving a touch of life by creating a cool and relaxing.Hotel Encanto is more than a hotel, a place where it is transported away from the crowds and crowded places, arriving at a different hotel where it will live an experience full of relaxation and beauty, taking a different view of Acapulco. The design of the Hotel was developed taking in consideration the basic needs of all people, space, light, water and above all the presence of the ocean. The idea was to create a feeling of abandonment of oneself, in a serene and relaxed environment but with exceptional service, taking care of every need. With a spectacular view of the bay, the Hotel Encanto is a heaven of tranquility, peacefulness and light. Therefore, the most characteristic architectural feature is just the water, complemented by the constant breeze and the perfect use of light playing on the walls, giving them warm colors from dawn to dusk. Just shy of 5 stars

My sister and I spent 3 nights at the fabulous Hotel Encanto in mid-June 2011. My overall rating is 4 stars, mainly for the beauty and uniqueness of the property, the high-end ammenities and cleanliness of the room, and the courteous staff... but in my opinion, there are a couple of areas needing improvement. First off, the hotel is about a $20 US, one-way taxi fare to any of the usual touristy destinations, which makes for lovely seclusion, but should definitely be factored into traveller's budget for getting around. Aside from having to shell out more to get to attractions (including the beaches), the hotel restaurant -- while providing delicious and intersting foods -- is also ridiculously over-priced ($22 lunch entrees, $11 desserts, and $4 beverages!). So the location of the hotel also considerably increases the amount of money a guest will pay for food. In addition to this, we arrived about 2 weeks before the peak season and I'm pretty sure we were the only guests of the hotel for 2 of our 3 nights. Therefore at times the staff were either hovering uncomfortably, or they forgot us. Given the lull the hotel was in during our stay, the offer of a free room upgrade and a shuttle service (even one-way, or for a nominal fee) would have pushed my rating up to 5 stars. (That said, our experience would have been PERFECT for honeymooners or lone/quiet travellers looking for a gorgeous setting off the beaten path.)

Our stay at Casa Yalman Kaan was superb. If your looking for a nice quiet vacation away from all the craziness of downtown Acapulco this is the place for you. With its attentive staff members and beachfront location it makes it one of the best places we've ever stayed at. The only draw back is since its about 30 minutes from "main Acapulco" there isn't much to do unless you want to drive or take a cab into downtown. The only activity we found were the "ATV Quad Rentals" from some of the kids riding up and down the coast offering that service and a 10 minute quad ride to the only place we found to rent boats and jet skis. The only other drawback is the room size. Since they are Bungalow type rooms they can be a little to cramped. But for us since all we used it for was to sleep and take showers it was all we needed. Please note: They have a "NO CHILDREN" policy. So if your taking a family vacation you out of luck here, but if you want a nice quiet getaway with you and you significant other .... book now ! So if your looking for a nice quite vacation spot I HIGHLY recommend Casa Yalman Kaan. If your looking for a party atmosphere and more amenities you probably don't want to stay here. Great hideaway on Acapulco Bay

  • Helpful Hannah Verified Customer
  • 6 Mar 2010
Park Royal is a beautiful hotel with many different buildings tucked into a hillside in an upscale neighborhood next to Las Brisas, which does NOT have a beach, but a saltwater pool in rocks. DON'T go here if you cannot walk up and down stairs and steep hillsides. We did see a few weekend families with grandparents along in wheelchairs, though, as there are lots of elevators, of course, the funicular. Grounds are gorgeous, and everything very well-cared for, including parrot and peacocks. There is a hotel and condo zone around the bay where it is flat, but it is very Americanized and noisy and unattractive. If you want nightlife, you can take a short taxi ride there. Pierre Marques is a small separate bay with no view of Acapulco Bay. The latest IN place in Acapulco, with the Fairmont, etc. in Revolcadero beach---very flat, in an industrial zone and very close to airport, with no gorgeous view of Acapulco Bay, and lots of undertow. Might as well go to Ixta-Zihua, or Puerto Vallarta. We came here because I checked weather, and upper Caribbean and Cancun were going to have some rain. We had SUN for a whole week, with mid-80's perfect Pacific weather! No one ever bothered us after check-in with time share sales. There are two very clean and beautiful pools. One, higher up the hill, we never went to, but it does have its own bar. We went to the pool at the beach when we wanted to go to swim-up bar or to hamburger place. We took kayaks (no extra fee) around the Guitarron point to look at the mansions (there was a private helicopter pad and yacht with the house next to our hotel--fun to watch the helicopter land, only twice, on Friday.) and paddle toward the mouth of Acapulco Bay toward the Pacific. Gorgeous! You can easily take jet skis, get a ride in a little runabout, arrange a dinner cruise, rent a sunfish, go water-skiing, or boarding--whatever. We left once in daytime to watch the divers at the Quebrada in old Acapulco. Don't bother with the trip to Coyuca. We could have hired a taxi to take us there, found the ride in the lagoon to the mudbath place ourselves. The food on that trip was horrible, althoug the people were nice. Only take taxis from taxi stand by hotel. No worries. Price upfront and you negotiate a round trip and they'll come back or wait for you. There is always beach volleyball in late afternoon, water "volleyball" in pool, etc. Everyone at the hotel was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Don't worry about your Spanish--mine's awful, and everyone speaks a little English. The place fills up on the weekends with Mexico City weekenders--lots of nice families with three generations, but also, young working couples and singles. The price included all you can eat and drink, and the margaritas, beer, etc were always around. The breakfast buffet with made to order eggs was great. Lunch in El Pescadora right next to the beach, was perfect, with huge buffet, small steaks and chicken breast grilled, and very fresh grilled fish to order. There is a snack bar where you can always grab a hamburger, turkey burger, or hot dog and lots of carrot and jicama sticks, chips, and condiments all afternoon by the pool and beach. The food includes tons of fresh veggies and fruits, and I found the food very healthy, not greasy and salty. We ate salad and had the ice cubes, which they say is from purified water, with no problems. They also leave two bottles of water in your room every day, so we didn't drink from the faucet. Watch out for the seagulls. They need to tell tourists not to feed them, as they are too many by the pool and beach. The dinners in the buffet were OK, the view is spectacular, but in the other restaurant, the Trattoria, dishes lacked flavor, although the antipasti and ever-present flan were fine. If we had gone there again, we would have just filled up on that. They need to get a better chef for the Italian dishes and pizza. Too bad, because the view of Acapulco Bay, the ser...

There were plenty of activities to do on the beach if you had money (jet ski, boat rides, etc.). The main swimming pool was very cold but the swim up bar helped you forget it. The service from the hotel staff at the buffet restaurants were inconsistant. It was hit or miss on receiving service from the wait staff, especially if you were not a vip guest. There were occassions that we did not receive service at all while dining. The front desk staff and the bartenders were great! Especially [...] who was at the swim up bar. We had three day trips scheduled and one never picked us up and another called to cancel because mechanical problems with their boat. The city tour was super cool! Overall we enjoyed our stay though. You could not have asked for better weather.

Nightmare in Mexico

This was the worst vacation i have ever been on. we paid for transfers and found out when we got there that it was worthless. we do expect orbits to refund the $60 that was paid for transfers. (of course it may not happen) it cost us $145.00 to go to the hotel from the airport. the hotel was 2 hours away. the first room had no water pressure at all in the sink and no hot water. the third day we was there they gave us another room (after my husband made a point). this room had water pressure in the sink but still no hot water. we woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and the floor was floating in water. the lavatory faucets were leaking water and running behind the sink onto the floor. we had to take towels to soak up the water. the bed was so hard we had to take the cushions from outside and put them on the bed to make it a little more comfortable. after the third day (stayed sat to sat) we were amongst the living survivors. there were two other couples. the restaurant didn't put any food out on the buffet. they told you what you could have!! this lasted from tuesday till saturday!! it says all inclusive..what a joke!! it should be all exclusive!! Exclusive of food, water, comfort, entertainment and drinks!! rooms were very small. tv in room was very small. very little english is spoken so if you can't speak or understand spanish you are sol. fortunately, my husband speaks/understands fluent spanish. there is nothing surrounding this hotel. no sort of intervention with any other business. the club and the entertainment was zero!! there were two bars and two restaurants only one was staffed. i will never go to acapulco or to this hotel ever again. if i was to win a free trip here i would sell it or give it away. it is a waste of time and money. i will never book with orbitz. their information was incorrect. sending us texts telling us flights were on schedule when they were cancelled. leaving us to wait at the airport for 4-5 hours. nothing good to say about this hotel except the housekeeping was on top of everything and a few working at the restaurant took good care of us. but nothing to keep you coming back for more unless you are a complete idiot with money to burn and no sense of time or service. my advice: STAY AWAY FROM ORBITZ AND THIS HOTEL!!

We stayed in this hotel for a couple of days in Christmas December 2010. Overall the hotel is fine especially we were impressed by amazing ocean view. the hotel was a bit overcrowded, noisy, internet connection was free but so slow that it was just not used.

My Acapulco spring break trip

Was in acapulco for spring break to explore and just have fun. Hotel was ok, decent rooms and friendly staff... My friend and I both got the all inclusive package and thought the food was lacking..it was good on some days bit for the most part it was mediocre.. I recommend not getting all inclusive and just eat at some local restaurants, which are great!! My stay would also be more enjoyable if they had a bar at the beach, or waiters taking drink orders at the beach and bringing them to you... This was not the case at the copa overall the copa was ok, lots of spring breakers were there and there was plenty of entertainment by the pool everyday

NICE Hotel & Grounds, BUT

Hotel, Grounds and Restaurant were excellent, but the checking in process late at night was a Nightmare. I reserved TWO Rooms for my wife & I and for another couple traveling with us. When the clerk only gave me a access key for ONE Room, I asked about the key for the second room and she tells me the reservation only had for one room and then starts to tell me that they can provide a LARGE Roll- Away Bed for in our room ?!?! I asked het to check if the 2nd room was possibly listed another our friends names and it was NOT? Fortunately I printed my document that [...]provides (Showed I paid for 2 rooms and had all of our names on it) and showed it to them - all of a sudden another room was available and then all was fine.
