I would not recommend

There was not AC in the room. Even after it was reported, the hotel did not do anything about. Staff was rude. Not very accomodating.

Outdoors marvelous indoors needs improvement

The amenities outdoors are amazing. Swimming pools are beautiful and the sunsets at the infiniti pool are amazing. Indoors the hotel needs improvement. Lobby needs to be air conditioned with the high temperatures of Acapulco. An area that requires immediate attention is the service from staff. Room assigned was standard and not the "privilige suite" paid for. This happened to our friends too. We complained and were provided what we paid for. My final comment is regarding the service and knowledge of bellboys, front desk. It appears no one has the experience or knowledge to recommend even a "seafood" location. We asked multiple staff and beyond blank stares we received unhelpful recommendations. Perhaps the staff is inexperienced or new? I believe a hotel catering to this level of clientele should at least have a concierge. Very disatisfied with the hotel staff.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

At beach walk right and you'll find terrific restaurants for seafood. We ate at 2 and were fantastic. They are just beyond the Crowne Plaza right next to each other. We dined indoors and not at sand.

perfect location

The hotel has perferct location. Our room on the 10th floor, it has nice view, you can see almost all the bay. But the A/C in the room is very noisy, we can not sleep well in the night. Besides this everything is above the normal, i recommend you to go.

Fab location

Stayed on the 8th floor for 4 nights - lovely views from the balcony. Hotel pools were great, especially the infinity pool. plenty of loungers and I loved the Bali beds. Direct access to the beach where there were cabanas if you wanted to be in the shade. Location is suberb - opposite the Diana shopping Mall and Cineplex with plenty of restaurants close by. We ate in either El Fogon or Las Metates restaurants, just across the road, every morning as the hotel buffet, at mx$192, was, we thought, overpriced. However, the drinks in the bar weren't. Cocktails at $65 and beers $35. There are also small kitchens in the rooms with a microwave, fridge and freezer. But, with restaurant food so cheap ..... however, good for a cuppa first thing. Remember to bring your own teabags/coffee For sightseeing: 3 recommendations: El Fuerte de San Diego, La Quebrada and the Clavadistas and a boat trip - we took Victoria V - mx$95 for an hour and a half with commentary and an on board clavadista!

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

The local buses running up and down La Costera from Costa Diamante all the way to Caleta only cost $5 a trip and are very frequent with good signage on their windows. Some drivers very keen on loud music. Bring your earplugs if you're not fond of bass speakers :) The ones marked 'HORNO' go directly along the coast. Some others take a long trip around the town.

emporio escape

almost anything you want is offered here--great dining, massages, three pools or the beach-- to mention some of the things we enjoyed at the Emporio Hotel. It is a great advantage to speak Spanish, but we got by having none. Our 10 days there passed all too quickly- seemed like 2.

Good location, bad maintenance

In general good. Yet the room had bad air conditioning, two lights would not turn on, the radio did not function correctly, I could not get anyone to tell me the T.V. stations where I could listen to music. And when I checked out, at first they were charging me again for the rooms. It was quickly corrected.

Great experience for all groups

The hotel offered a complete experience no matter what type of group you are travelling with. The pool facilities are extraordinary. Good river like pool with chutes for the kids. For the adult couple, a separate private area is availalble with swimming pool, drinks service and great facilities. Beach actitivities are available right in front of the hotel: water ski, parachuting, motor water ski, massauge, among others. The main restaurant is very good, with both selection of buffet and letter. The thai restaurant had great facility, but a little short on menu options and service.

Fabulous!

The view from the 12th floor was beautiful, you could see the entire bay of Acapulco. The pool area was great and we really appreciated the adult only area which was relaxing with wonderful little cabanas. The beach area was nice, although full of vendors, which is typical for the area. I would have liked it if the security kept them out of the roped off area of the hotel, though. the rooms were very nice with a stone bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that they had a problem with the sewer system so the outdoor bathrooms smelled, but the smell didn't get past the door, so that was good. The hotel was also in walking distance to teh clubs and lots of hotels and malls. All in all we were extremely happy with the hotel.
