Good Hotel on a Budget
Stayed at Bel Air for Cinco De Mayo. The bar staff was great, big shout out to Omar who is awesome! Food takes a long time to get especially at the sushi restaurant, so if you go eat here, plan to wait an hour or more for your food. Room was pretty, but was not provided wash cloths and my top sheet had a yellow stain on it. The room has air conditioning which is a plus and the modern decor is very cool. The hotel is not bad, they definitely keep the drinks coming and the pool overlooks the ocean and is very pretty!

horrible hotel
Stayed at this hotel only one night. hotel needs refurbishment. Horrible premisses. Very strange atmosphere, strange people, lots of travesties and old people that dresses like they have no sense of their age. Location-wise is veryyyy far from everything and taxis outsuide starts at 300 pesos, which is a rip off... not a good thing to say about this hotel, sorry! veryyy noisy outside because the cars inside because the weirdos.

Not too shabby
It was pretty good. The room looked nice and we had a view of the lagoon. The bed was super comfortable. The only problem was that the bathroom ceiling leaked for a few days and left a puddle of water on the bathroom floor. One guy said it was due to the humidity and the walls "sweating" naturally. But the last couple days of our trip the leaking stopped. I assume it was due to their not being an occupant above anymore. Perhaps some water pipe or the toilet leaked somewhere and it seeped into our ceiling. The beach was fantastic with great sand and great water and there's a pool right there on the beach side.

Short drive from hotel
If renting a car, you may come across some person at a booth and they work for "Vida" or something like that. They do give you an offer to have some great discounts on some X-caret and Chichen-itza tours but you got to go to their hotel for a "short presentation" on what they're doing and how they're benefiting Mexico by creating more jobs and how we can help. It turns out it just was a timeshare presentation and they were trying to sell it to us. The timeshares seemed nice and they offered some good deals, but it was not for us. Just know what you're getting yourself into when you talk with one of these representatives. They never mention anything about a timeshare up front.

overall it was a good trip. the food was just decent with small portions and not much variety. the staff was always friendly. the room was beautiful. we had the jacuzzi suite. the hotel looks more run down than the pictures. there is no entertainment or activities so plan on doing nothing. also, the restaurant(s) are one place and everything is only open a few hours and not at the same time so you eat the same place every time.

Not my style, but good if you are a party goer
Secluded, but nice room. Staff very so,so ! the champagne was not ready and the staff didn't care much, small beach area not much to do, but clean hotel though. Horrible Food!

Over all
The Hotel is older and does not require a act of congress to get access to the hotel and they don't nickle and dime you to death. It's a little far to most of the activities but you can alway take a taxi or bus of 8 pesos. Resturant needs a little help in the morning and a little slow but overall a good place to stay

You can take the bus route #1 to some all the other parts of Cancun ie disco area, shopping - just to the bus stop and pay 8 pesos per person - great deal and they come frequently.
