Grand Park Royal Cancun Caribe - All Inclusive

Usually never write reviews because its subjective anyway but had to mention mine so be aware. Only two restaurants on the premises beside the norm buffet but they don't allow kids under 16! I understand but definitely should have been forewarned . In the package had free wifi, had to change rooms according to them because I had a toddler with me, didn't mind but my Internet was not working anymore when I asked about a solution I was answered that I can go and use Internet in the lobby of that previous building . Yeah right, if it was not for the Skype need I would mind no Internet for a week however I have payed essentially twice for it. There is no doctor on site! My toddler got a rash , they call a doctor, who tells me he is not sure what is it and tells me we should go to a local hospital. Long story short the doctor experience was bad. Our pediatrician said its most probably irritation from the jacuzzi if its not cleaned up well. We had to cut the trip short because of it. I should have known better! They do not have professional pictures services either, I know it's a perk but hey I am on a vacation ant the first hotel that did not have one. overall you can do better for the money. Oh and at the bar they always tried to use the lower brand alcohol like stolichnaia vodka vs absolut or some sweet Baylis substitute liquor mix with the real thing, stick to the beer I guess. One word description AVERAGE!

If this is your first time in Cancun, Grand Park is a great hotel, in an amazing location, beautiful beach and great food. The buffet is smaller than most places, but they have great food.

Spent a week with the wife. It was a great place. The beach is good, the facilities are nice and the staff is great. The drinks are good and not watered down. Rooms are nice. The a la carte restaurants are only ok, but food overall is great.

We stayed from Dec 31st to Jan 2nd and we had a great time there. The room was clean and was comfortable. Only thing I didn't like was the restaurant. It was good but with children we didn't have option other than buffet restaurant...

I and my husband are pretty much easy going traveler. However, we seriously realized how the concierge and front desk staffs are important from this trip. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, there was one concierge person waiting for us then he explained to sign on next trip then he will give us all kinds of promotions. Of course we didn't even know whether we watnt to come back so we didnt'sign. After that he completely ingored us including other concierge people. Whenever we needed their help, no one wanted to help us unless they get any benefit from it. It's no longer about location and room... but we seriously realized the people who work there can ruin such a precious trip.

Staff is fantastic and premises are kept immaculate. Food is inconsistent Was surprised to learn that "ALL INCLUSIVE" did not cover 2 basics .... gym and internet

Not sure why this was a 4-Star and highly-ranked Cancun Hotel. Our room was upgraded which was great, but the beds were hard and small, air conditioner barely worked, and shower went from scalding hot to freezing cold every 10-20 seconds. In terms of location though, this hotel cannot get better. About a 10 minute walk to all the nightlife and great restaurants, close drive from the airport, and amazing beach. Staff was really nice, but the food was mediocre and tasteless. The worst thing about this hotel is someone is constantly on you about something. If you order room-service, expect your phone to ring every 30 minutes until you put your tray in the hallway. We literally had to unplug the room phone when we ordered room-service. Once they called at 1am to ask us to put the tray in the hallway. They also call your room on a daily basis to see if you want to book any tours. It was really annoying and intrusive (especially since the calls start around 8am). Of and one other completely stupid thing is that although this hotel is in Cancun, and it was about 90 degrees there every day we were there...and the main buffet restaurant is literally at the pool, men are not allowed to wear tank tops in the restaurant. It's completely ridiculous! Finally, the ala-carte restaurants are terrible. All that bad stuff said, we still really just love Cancun, so a bad hotel was not going to ruin our stay! But now we just know why we got such a good deal on it.

We loved everything about this place! Went there for our Anniversary. On the actual day of our Anniversary, the restaurant we ate at treated us like ROYALTY! This hotel is in the middle of the hotel zone, which is perfect. The food was great, the staff was great and the scenery is second to none!

While the expansiveness of this hotel gives ample opportunity for solitude and relaxation, the cobbled walkways were hard on the feet when you had to hoof it to one of the opposite ends of the grounds. The hotel was centrally located with shopping areas not too far off and the room was lovely and clean. Having the beach and sea right outside off the balcony was perfect. Staff were pleasant generally, but the waitstaff in the Oriental restaurant were the best. The annoying parts were that while internet access is listed as an amenity it's only once you get there there that you find there's a huge charge for it to use! Same for use of the gym. It was also annoying that you had only a 3 hour window each day to make a reservation for a seat in one of the 2 "better" restaurants so that if you were out on an activity for the day you were stuck having to eat at the buffet. The restaurant staff would not budge on letting you in without a reservation even when the restaurant was almost empty! Overall, a good value and I'd recommend it.

I booked this Hotel based on the reviews. Boy do I regret it. The rooms were average, beds were hard and worst of all DO NOT get there early and expect them to accomodate you. My best friend and I arrived at 11am and were not allowed to check in until 3pm sharp. We even offered to pay extra. Food was above average. MAke sure to make reservations for the Italian and Tai Restaurants. Great food there.
