Great vacation
This hotel is really a five star hotel. Very clean, nice foods, and great service. The floor is not carpeted and it is all granite which is a plus. The bathrooms around the beach are very clean. The only problem we had was the slow Wi-Fi internet connection in our room (6th floor). The pools were great with great view. Over all I strongly recommend this peaceful and beautiful hotel.

Awesome Relaxing Gateaway
We got upgraded to Ocean Front room. Awesome views. Great friendly staff! They definitely took good care of us. They always accommodated our request for Vegetarian Food. Great 24hr room service. The only thing my wife did not like was the facial at the spa.

Excellent food for an all inclusive
Live Aqua was wonderful. They have all the amenities (great gym, spa, hot tub, etc.). Most all inclusive dining options didn't require reservations, which is one of the main issues I have with all-inclusive resorts. Dining was great, especially the poolside restaurant (try the goat cheese mussels, they're amazing). The bartenders were all friendly; they offered comparable drink suggestions when my go-to vacation drink, mojitos, was impossible to make when they ran out of mint. Our not ocean view room still had a significant ocean view from the terrace. Best of all, 24/7 room service was included. The only problem was that the affiliated tour guide (Gray tour lines, I think?) at the hotel was super pushy-- he called us all the time, tried to shorten his work time by making us come schedule tours when it was convenient for him (4-6 pm only)... but that's not a knock on the hotel. He also screwed up our airport shuttle arrival time, almost causing us to miss our flight. Hotel= awesome, this website's affiliated tour company, not so much.

Almost perfect
This is a lovely property. The vibe is very cool and calm. The pool setup is top of the line. Lots of variety and very chic. The staff was all excellent. The only little suggestions I would have are that some of the aromatherapy comes on a little strong in the hallways. In other places its very welcome. The other comment I have (and this is coming from a committed foodie) is that the food quality isn't quite where it should be for 5 stars. They have plenty of concept but not quite enough quality of finished product. Steak not high enough quality. Lobster overdone, chicken underdone. Small portions. Short on the vegetables. But, it's an all inclusive.....I am nitpicking. You can just order something else. The bars are all great, the beach beautiful. I would easily go back many times. Buy an extra bottle of your favorite booze on the way in and don't pay too much attention to the food. Enjoy every other lovely detail (the hand and foot massages poolside!!!)

Perfection
It was the most relaxing, breathtaking resort. Staff was incredible. I went with my girlfriends and it was a great mix of people. The hotel had everything. Great pools, yoga in the morning, great drinks, many restaurants to choose from. I highly recommend Live Aqua.

A great vacation and can't see me or my wife staying anywhere else in Cancun. Top notch service and amenities plus a wonderful spa made our first anniversary perfect. We will be back for sure!

Great laid back vacation
Overall the hotel is great. It was recently rated as the #1 hotel in Mexico by Travel + Leisure. It is located on a beautiful beach and it has nice landscaping and swimming pools. It is an all-inclusive resort so you don't have to worry about your food or drinks. No kids are allowed so it is very relaxing for couples. The hotel is nicely designed but if you are a perfectionist when it comes to build quality, you will find some minor details where execution was less than perfect. This however would not prevent us from going there again or recommending it. Two things would further improve the experience: 1) more beach umbrellas or shaded areas so there is no 7 AM rush to secure your own and 2) sunscreen provided by the hotel so you don't have to go on a hunt for it.
