Sun Palace Couples Only - All Inclusive

We spent most of our time in the resort, or at the sister resorts. The food was good, and the service was exceptional (especially at breakfast). Internet service was not reliable, but we were able to call ANYWHERE in the U.S. for free. The evening entertainment staff were fun and friendly, but there wasn't a lot of variety in terms of the entertainment, which I think is important for resort so far from the main attractions. I would stay there again, but I would travel to the other resorts more to see what their evening activities are like. I hope they have a free shuttle next time so we don't have to pay for that as well.

If you want to feel pampered this is a great place to start. You are met at the door with a glass of champagne, your bags are taken to your room while you check in. They will try to get you to go on an hour and half tour but you don't have to go unless you want the free stuff they will offer. The Beach is by far better than most of the other resorts (some are rocks not sand). The pools are also fantastic. All the staff are extremely friendly and will help with any thing you need. They provide you with activities during the day at the main pool and some form of entertainment every night. Overall the best vacation i have ever had and I'm already making plans to return next spring.

You know, I hesitate to write about just how good our time at the Sun Palace was because... well... I don't want the word to get out and the place to be sold out. But they deserve the recognition for running a truly top rate resort. My husband and I stayed there for 6 days in February 2009 and our only complaint (other than a brief inconvenience at check-in - they put us in a room on the 1st floor with a partially obstructed view and we were not willing to accept that - we finally ended up in 429 which was perfect) was that we had to go home. The room was gorgeous and immaculate. The beach, pool, waves and weather were perfect. The food was quite good - far better than we ever expected from an all-inclusive. And best of all, the wait staff was amazing. Simply amazing! Every need, every want, every whim was met with smiles and indulgence throughout the week. We normally like to venture out and explore a new location. This was our first time in Mexico and it says quite a lot that we ended up not leaving the resort once. Not once! THAT'S how good the service, beach, drinks, food, etc. were. We woke up rested by 6:15am (gaining an hour from EST), had a leisurely breakfast and hit the beach by 8:15am. Then we read our books, played beach volleyball, swam in the ocean, and sipped fruity drinks until sundown around 6pm. Every. day. Total paradise. We can't wait to go back! Thank you Sun Palace. Just amazing. Definitely take the time to go to the rooftop at Beach Palace - view is amazing. You have all-inclusive at several properties and all will treat you as a true VIP. We usually always try new places when traveling, but we now we will always stay at Sun Palace and Cancun for our winter trip.

Look no further for another hotel! You will be amazed at what you see! The minute I stepped out of the taxi for the first time, they welcomed me with a flower, and chamagne...we arrived early but they checked us in early with no extra charge...the staff at this hotel are AMAZING...they will treat you like royalty...they tend to you hand and foot.....the aesthetic look of this hotel is sontemporaty but simple and beautiful! It is always clean! ALWAYS! The views are gorgeous, and if you are planning this for your honeymoon- then it is exactly- if not- more than what you will dream of.....they spoil you!!!! We did not want to leave!

The Sun Palace ROCKS. I'll try to be brief, but we just got back from a week-long trip yesterday. EVERYTHING was super clean. I want to hit highlights you might not read about in other reviews: 1. The service is exceptional. All the staff was kind and pleasant. This is all-inclusive, so nobody EVER asked for tips. Everyone was eager to help. 2. The beach is fantastic. We narrowed our hotel search down to the Sun Palace and Moon Palace. We wanted a nice beach to lay out on and I wanted to boogie board. We made the right decision; the Moon Palace was FULL of seaweed and was dirty. The Sun Palace beach had crystal clean water and perfect waves. 3. All the tap water/showers and ice at the Sun Palace is purified--you CAN drink the water and be just fine. 4. The food was excellent. The only food I didn't enjoy is when I branched out for something different and didn't like it. Everything was nicely prepared. The Tratto, Steak, and Thai are excellent with amazing atmosphere. We ate everything from steak to italian to hamburgers and it was all hot and tasty. 5. If you order a Coke from the fountain, it has fruit juice in it--very different taste. Get one in a can if you want the real deal. 6. Don't be swayed by less amenities. Another reason we debated the Moon Palace over Sun was because of the golf, minigolf, rock climbing, and other onsite activities. Well, since the Sun Palace is FAR and away nicer, it was better to take the free day trip to the Moon Palace--best of both worlds. My wife said the Sun Palace was like staying at a spa resort. 7. Do not be shy to ask for anything--if the Sun Palace has it, you can get it! I cannot say more good things about the staff--superb. Most everyone speaks English, but it wouldn't hurt for you to brush up on basic Spanish. 8. When we were there, we did not have to wait in line for anything; restaurants, beach chairs, etc.--all was readily available. 9. Since it's couples only, there are no kids; therefore, there are couples from every age group. I'd say it broke down on our trip to 50% senior citizens, 35% 40s-50s, and 15% 39 & under. Of course, everyone is nice because they are on vacation! We would absolutely stay at the Sun Palace again; we HOPE to again soon.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the Sun Palace. We didn't know before we went that all of the "Palace" hotels are owned by the same people (Palace Resorts) and as such you can go to any of the other Palaces while you are there and enjoy the scenery at each different resort. (Including the all-inclusive features) The Sun Palace is a couples only, quieter place.. I would have preferred more of a party.. so luckily the Cancun Palace was a short $1 bus ride away. The Cancun Palace had a much better swim up bar, with far more people, but a much smaller beach. The service at both resorts is fantastic. We did quite a bit of research before we booked, and we chose the Sun Palace, and while I will likely do Cancun Palace next time, you can’t go wrong with the Palace Resorts if you want all-inclusive.

We had a great week at Sun Palace. It was more than we expected. As frequent travelers, we felt the Sun Palace had a great deal to offer. We highly recommend.

This was a very nice resort, with a very nice beach. The restaurants are alright, we were dissapointed with the oriental lounge, but the other restaurants were decent. The beach was beautiful, and the pools were well maintained (but it would be nice if they were heated).
