- The hotel is located Located just 50 minutes north of Cancun Airport, 20 minutes by ferry from Puerto Juarez, or 30 minutes by ferry from Cancun hotel zone. Exit Cancun International Airport and take Luis Donaldo Colosio Blvd. towards city of Cancun. Turn right onto Jose Lopez Portillo Blvd. towards Puerto Juarez and Punta Sam. Once you are at Puerto Juarez you can take an express boat. They leave from Puerto Juarez every 30 minutes and take 25 minutes. 5:00 am to 12:30 am. Approximate driving time to Puerto Juarez (Passenger Ferry) is 30 minutes and distance is 25.5 Km (15.85 miles).

Best Beach on the island!
We stayed in early January 2013, and loved our time with Ixchel. The hotel was great and the beach was phenomenal. The service on the beach was good - if they were faster it would have been perfect but this is an island and they are on island time- thank goodness for this because we would have missed our ferry back otherwise! We upgraded to the front room for the last few nights and it was worth it - The view was unreal and complete with a hammock on the porch overlooking the caribbean! We would definitely do this again!

Always ask how much the items are that you are purchasing it seems if you dont know how much the items are that you are requesting they add on a little more for commission than you would typically pay. Also get money changed at ferry port before going to island. They have the best rate there and it will help with transactions since they dont typically convert to your favor when dining or shopping in general.

Great Family and Friend Vacation
We loved our stay at the Ixchel Beach Hotel! The location is wonderful and situated on the beautiful Playa Del Norte beach. The beach service was great! Angel took care of our needs for food and beverages while we lounged under our unbrellas. We will absolutely stay there again. We have been to Isla many times and this is the best hotel value with the best beach.

great time
Just got back, usually stay at Marriott hotels in Cancun. Wanted something more laid back. Nice property, had ocean ft ste with huge balcony. Spent the evenings on the balcony watching the sunsets. Great place to unwind. Great staff, eager to please. Everything withing walking distance. Nice beach although this is a public beach. Many boats come over from cancun.Will stay there again.

Mamacitas has $10 pitcher margaritas and mojitos! Took pitcher from room and filled up. Beer is about $14 pesos at the supermarket at the end of the street. Rent a golf cart or scooter and drive around the island, great fun!

Staff very friendly and helpful. Maricio is fantastic. Giovani Also does a great job an is very friendly. Beautiful and clean hotel grounds. View is amazing and pool is pristine. Staff never left us enough towels after cleaning everyday, but they would bring them right away when we'd call. Maids leave envelope for tips for cleaning the room--this is somewhat annoying since that is a standard included service (everyone on the island tries to find a way to either get u to buy something from them or tip them for doing something.)--once you get past that it is a great place & our family had a great time. Appropriate for our kids (9 & 10 years old). Hotel is very close (easy walking distance) to stores and numerous restaurants that are delicious. Always know what to expect in change because most places will try to short change you. Don't expect the towns-people to be generally honest, because they are not. However this is not the case with the hotel staff--they are great.

If U have kids, Zama is a great place to go eat and enjoy their pool and beach. Fun place, you can also use paddle board and kayaks, etc while their.
