Villa Rolandi Thalasso Spa Gourmet and Beach Club - Adults Oriented

After a year in Iraq I wanted some peace and quiet. Villa Rolandi provided that. My visit in Sept 2010 exceeded expectations. The staff were gracious and friendly. Rooms nicely appointed;the tikul stone floors were nice touch, smooth and cool to walk on a warm day, the bed comfortable, with twice daily maid service. The lighting could be dimmed, which was nice. The shower was great, no problems with lack of hot water. The mini fridge constantly stocked with water, soda and beer which was great for day trips, I could just pack it along. The jacuzzi on the patio was a great feature, and the beautiful flowers on the balcony and all around the pool area and lobby were nice. Big towels and comfy chairs all around the pools, (1fresh water, one salt water) and lounge chairs out on the beach area with some palm trees for shade. You can even arrange to have a candlelit dinner on the beach. All staff I encountered were friendly and knew my name, perhaps because there were only 5 rooms occupied due to the off-season plus the recent Gulf oil spill. Lucky for me! The water was beautiful, genlte waves, I spent a lot of time floating around there. The hotel arranged a day tour to Tulum and Xel-ha for me, complete with ferry transfer tickets that saved a lot of time and confusion, and another day a snorkel tour, and also golf cart rental. The restaurant had delicious food, and the staff was kind enough to keep my bottle of wine selection for me so that I could indulge in a glass every night with dinner. Everything was so laid-back & romantic, I wished I was there on honeymoon rather than by myself! Speaking of which, as a single female traveler, I felt very safe, the doors to the room were very solid, and if someone wanted to get up to my room they would have had to get past the lobby staff first. I had a blast driving around the island in the golfcat, visited Casa Mundaca(Pirates house) and Ixchel temple. The only gripe I can think of is that the wireless didn't work in the room;most days I had to go out to the lobby to get signal, but really, no big deal. I mean, you're on a tropical Island, don't spend all day on a computer, right? All in all, after days I didn't want to leave, & I definitely put a lot of the stress of Iraq behind me! I can't wait to return! I miss you Villa Rolandi

We arrived at night (via the hotel's yacht) and were very impressed with the reception. The room was a pleasant surprise - it was spacious and there were some very unique perks (like a dual shower, great lighting and a wonderful view). The staff was amazing - they made you feel like you were the only guest there. We really liked how small this hotel is...especially compared to many of the mega resorts in Cancun. The hotel is located a short drive from the more touristy parts of the island. If you are looking for easy access to the big beaches, you may want to stay elsewhere. If you are looking for rest, relaxation and a unique experience, then I would recommend Villa Rolandi. Oh and did I mention that the food was good and memorable? And what a view from the restaurant! We enjoyed our time on Isla Mujeres and would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.

The hotel was very beautiful and a nice location. We had a pool side room. Main floor, which we thought we wouldn't like because you don't get much of a ocean view but found out it was great. We could use our own room to get a drink or snack or use the restroom without going very far. We love the main floor. It is very quite so you don't have to worry about the noise being by the pool. The hot tubs on the deck are a joke. They don't get very hot and they turn them off at 10 pm. Are didn't work we just gave up. Very expensive food I would bring a few snacks items from home or buy some in town. Staff was very nice. You get breakfast with your room which was excellent. Not a buffet but off a menu.Once you eat the big breakfast you really don't have eat much untill dinner. A light snack is all you'll need.

This is a beautiful quiet paradise to veg out after a long cold winter in denver. the service, food,rooms and ambience are top notch. A private beach for hotel guests only. Three beatiful pools with the most comfortable lounge chairs ever. i could go on and on. We look forward to going back.

We loved our time at villa Rolandi. The rooms are beautifully designed and have fabulous ocean views. The hot tub on the porch was fun. Breakfast was excellent and very large. This is a quiet island mostly we swam and snorkled. My only disapointment was the exercise room which did not have a working TV and had rather outdated equiptment. We would definately go back to this hotel.

The atmosphere --- wonderful The staff ------ fantastic The food ------- delicious This was one of the most enjoyable, relaxing winter vacations we have ever experienced. We were catered to at this resort every minute --- just what we needed. This resort is less than one hour from the Cancun airport. The transportation from the dock to the resort on the yacht was even memorable.

My boyfriend proposed to me right on the beach, it was very romantic. The place was very beautiful. The food in the resturant was delightful. We had a mix up with our boat ride over so, the hotel gave us a free boat ride when we left on their private yacht. The only bad thing was the water in the shower could have been a little hotter. We will remember the trip as overall terrific!!!

This hotel is quiet and accomodating. The staff do everything in there power to treat you like you are the King/Queen of the world. The rooms are spotless and the restaurant is definitely a 5 star restaurant. Three pools, a small beach and a spa with and excellent massage therapist([...]) makes this hotel a favorite for sure. You won't be disappointed.
