My review of Galeria Plaza
I was happy with this hotel except for the dining experience. We had dinner & the service was achingly slow. We had to wait for 30 minutes for the food to come. There was only one server in the whole place. The food came very salty but was replaced and then the veal came back and tasted fishy. There was no restaurant manager to complain to. And what good would it be to complain because there's always the language barrier and things will just get more messed up. When we asked the front desk if there was dinner buffet he said yes but there was not. We were exhausted and hungry that we decided to eat there any way. I wasn't happy at all. I mean, I wasn't looking for fancy I just wanted food that is properly cooked and tasted good.

Location, Location, Location
The GP is perfect for the new or returning visitor to Mexico City. With it's extremely convenient location, well-priced rooms, and very friendly staff, the hotel is a perfect option for the mid-range budget traveler who doesn't want to skimp on the important details (clean, efficient, presentable).

Great location and friendly and reasonable
The Galleria Plaza was strategically located and we found many restraunts around the hotel. They were clean, well maintained and friendly. I can't say enough about how we were treated. Very friendly. The concierge made reservations for us at several restraunts where we were treated like natives. The only complaint that I have is the cost of breakfast. I paid $63.00 US for 2 people on 2 different days. The first and second day. There are several other restraunts American style around the neighborhood which we found. The only other complaint is that the hair dryers got very hot and stopped working after 4 minutes. To solve the problem, we asked for 2. Otherwise, I would demand this hotel on all my future travels to Mexico City. Great Hotel!!!!

Exceptional value and staff.
The galeria plaza is highly recommended for any visitor to Mexico City. With an extremely helpful staff, we hosted a Mother's Day buffet in their main dining room and it was a real hit with the entire family. The staff was extremely professional and met every need, it was wonderful. The hotel management and staff is extremely accomodating and the amenities are well done. I can't say enough about how much I enjoy staying at this hotel. I hope to visit again soon.

The pool is great and the hotel truly makes you forget you are in the heart of one of the largest cities of the world. The resturant in the hotel has a variety for everyone and the room service is exceptional.

go around thier many places to eat and try to take the taxi they are cheapers than the hotels. also don't use prepaid cards w/800 number they charge for every call no matter what.

This felt like a safe place in Mexico City
This hotel was located in the Zona Rosa and was probably one of the nicest in that area. THis area is very artsie--lots of eating places. We could walk four blocks in each direction and feel safe. The US Embassy was only a few blocks away. We were alway able to find someone to speak some English. The hotel is very sturdy, old nostalgic. Not real big rooms, but sufficient. And we could have upgraded. We were on the 6th of 10 floors and were awakened in the night by the sound of something squeaking loudly. We found the next morning is was a 6.3 earthquake that we never felt--just heard. WE would go there again if the price was the same. .

Maravillosa ubicacion, instalaciones muy agradables, las habitaciones estan muy bien pero les falta mantenimiento (no servia la caja de seguridad y las puertas del mueble de la television estaban rotas). En la alberca el servicio es pesimo y muy caro. Cobran el estacionamiento cuando deberia ser un beneficio de hospedarse, pero fuera de eso es una muy buena opcion y por supuesto que si si volveria a hospedarme
