Be really careful!
These people are thieves! Be really careful of the extra charges! They charged me for calling the free of charge 1800 number. They categorize 1800 number as a long distance call. I have travelled all over the world and this was the first time that a hotel charged me for calling 1800 number. They also charge you for internet connection, water, coffee, and every thing that you touch in the room.

VERY VERY FANTASTIC
The Galeria Hotel was by far more then I expected - wonderful staff - taxi driver were wonderful helpful and very economic as far as the fare - Great location - will return one day.

Equal to a Ritz Carlton
Easily a 5 star hotel stay. We used the executive level floor which included a lounge that provided breakfast, evening free wine and snacks from 6-830pm and turn down service. The sleeping room was large, well furnished and included TV in English and Spanish. Great location to visit pink zone, historic center and the park.

Don't be afraid to get out and explore from the hotel. There were no issues with pick pockets, beggars, or pesky trinket sellers. But do not wear shorts or T shirts that mark you as an American.

The hotel though dated has contemporary design. Rooms are clean. Toiletries are basic. Godiva chocolates on the turned down bed add a special touch. Centrally located. Nice shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Was charged for internet use at checkout which I previously paid in cash right. Printer use was also falsely charged.

Great hotel for the price
The overall experience was great. Location, cleanliness, and the friendliness of the staff were top-notch. If I am ever in Mexico City, I would definitely stay at this hotel.

Good Hotel
It was a nice place to stay, though the airconditioning in the room as well as the hotel needs to be maintained well. Everything is nearby, friendly staff and good service. Internet is sketchy - can't understand the free 2hour access only from the lobby and not from the room. I was explaining to the staff that if my PC can catch the network, I could sit in my room and access the wireless network, she was insistent that I use my laptop only in the foyer or the Business ctr, otherwise I would be charged. Easy walkway to all the Zona Rosa restaurants and night life.., would recommned the place.

Unbeatable Location for the price
the only problem we experienced was that the air conditioner in our room didn't work too well. for the first two days, I reported it to the front desk and they had the maintenance man try to fix the problem but was unsuccessful. On the third day, we left the maid a note requesting her not to turn it off when she came to make the room and that seemed to help a little. Otherwise, everything else was superb.

Galeria Plaza
Liked the upgrade for little extra $ to executive level with continental breakfast and wine in evening.Concierge very helpful. Close to public transportation (Metro is cheap, convenient, fast), museums, park (Bosque de Chapultepec). Hotel staff were friendly and courteous.
