fantastic deal!
i was very surprised and very grateful that I had such a wonderful stay at Galeria Plaza! everyone was so corteous and helpful. I definitely got more than I paid for! the service and attentiveness of the staff definitely made up for the deficit in the hotel's aesthetics. i stayed in the ladies' executive rooms so free continental breakfast was included, as well as complimentary wine every evening at the reading room. the hotel is very, very close to the heart of the vibrant Zona Rosa, with so many shops, restaurants and nightclubs to suit your fancy (and budget!). Paseo de Reforma is a few steps away, with its own array of interesting restaurants, churches, shops and the national anthropology museum. it is also close to the Zocalo which can be easily reached by foot or a cheap taxi ride. all in all, it was a very good experience.

Great Hotel
My arrival was very pleasant, but had to switch room because the air conditon was not working and the mini bar was empty and did not work. The staff was very accomodating making sure my room was working properly. Over all I have stayed at this hotel in the past and I find the staff very friendly and go the extra mile to make sure the client is please. I really like the fact that is close to restaurants, sites to visit and even public transportation

Luxury and good location w/ great price
Great place for a casual traveler with close proximity to the beautiful neighborhoods near chaputepec park, condesa, roma, polanco, and the paseo reforma. Close to the insurgentes metro station in a calm yet vibrant neighborhood. Bars in the area are a little over priced and the area is more americanized than most but retains a distintive mexico city charm. The rooftop pool and deck was amazing and is perfect for taking a break from the hustle of the city and relaxing with some afternoon sun. The staff was friendly and helpful but beware of expensive phone calls from the room if your cell isn't working and bring a computer if you need the internet, a hefty charge is placed on using the computers in the lobby business center. The room was well appointed and clean, The free espresso machines and ice machines for guest use on every floor was much appreciated. It was also nice to not have to worry about the water quality, it was clean and safe for drinking. I love mexico city and I loved this hotel after spending a week there it really felt like home to me and my girlfriend and we plan to return someday soon! This was one of the best vacations I've ever been on and for nearly half the price i would expect for such great memories and accomodations!

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
You can probably skip the local night clubs as they are expensive and suprisingly mexicans seem to be very conservative dancers...at least in the two local clubs we went to, the bars on the weekend were fun and lively but a little pricy compared to condesa, roma, and coyacan. Also don't expect to much night life sun-wed in this neighborhood or most places, most street activity seemed to die down around ten but thurs-sat is a different story.

Great location, an Oasis in the city
the hotel is in a great location yet in a quiet area. Easy walk to Museum of Anthropology, and to Metro. The area also borders on Condesa and Roma where there are numerous art galleries and cafes. The bed was comfortable, room was clean. We had a great view of the Angel of Independence. We enjoyed the health club and pool, outdoor lounge facilities on the roof--which felt nice a nice oasis from the city.

There is a great Korean restaurant (Biwon) on Calle Florencia No. 20 which is right off Hamburgo and one block walk from the hotel. Also Pendulo--has great acoustic concerts and coffee---a two block walk from the hotel--on Hamburgo.

Excellent value, if you get a good deal
The bed was kind of hard, which didn't matter too much the first night when I was so exhausted I fell right to sleep, but kept me up a bit the second night. There's also not much lighting in the room - in the bathroom, once you pull the shower curtain closed, it's pretty dark! However, the hotel and rooms are spotless and very modern, and everyone on the staff is very friendly. It's also an excellent location for walking along Avenue Reforma into Chapultepec Park. The rack rate is about $300 but I got it for $70/night which was well worth it. You even get a free welcome cocktail. If you have a laptop with you, there's free wireless in the rooms. I didn't, so I used a computer at the Business Center, which cost about $1 for 5 minutes.
