Eurostars Hacienda Vista Real - Playa del Carmen

Clean rooms, friendly personnel and good breakfast. need to rent car or have taxis take you to playa del carmen. I can recommend this hotel. could do with a bar or a restaurant (offers nothing other than b/fast, really)

The hotel is away from the main beach area and is located in the an adjacent neighborhood. It is about 10-15min very pleasant, beautiful, and safe walk into the center of town (the neighborhood seemed like the beverly hills of playa del carmen). You feel like you are walking into a mayan temple when you get there. The pool and breakfast area overlooks the lake of the local golf course. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only drawbacks had to do with us being there during the off season. As such, the spa, jacuzzi, and restaurant were closed. They did have a great breakfast buffet included in the room price and the room had a jacuzzi tub which more than made up for the one being closed. They were also doing maintenance and repairs on several areas but it never interfered with our stay. They have an affiliation granting you free entry to the playa indigo beach club in the center of town where you can lounge and have drinks on the sand. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would love to come back here to see what it's like during the regular season.

Hacienda Vista Real is outstanding. Interesting location in Playacar. Great staff. Rooms were perfect. Breakfast was complete. Playa has everything. Restaurants. Shopping. Diving. Snorkeling. And a good place to set off from to explore Mexico.

Great Hotel! Everything was sooo clean, nice, put together! The hotel staff was great! The pool was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious! And if you wanted to have something to eat and the restaurant was already close, they had a list of restaurants that they call and bring the food to the hotel. It couldn't get any better!

The hotel was very attractive and, since I enjoy walking, I liked the fact that it was somewhat out of the way in a park-like setting surrounded by villas and golf courses. If you find all inclusive resorts too artificial and confining and their promise of all you can eat and drink appealing to the crowd that overdoes both and shows it, Hacienda Vista Real is a nice alternative. I single female, I found the surroundings safe and never hesitated walking alone back to the hotel fairly late at night. Hacienda is not on a beach, nor does it have its own beach club, but for a fee you can use one belonging to a sister property. A free alternative is public beach in Playa Del Carmen with a wide expanse of white sand kept clean. There are numerous eating establishments in Playa Del Carmen from fast food, to wholesome natural food, to quite sophisticated fusion cuisine. I found the hotel staff to be pretty good, not overly friendly, but accommodating and efficient. I was particularly impressed by the honesty of the hotel restaurant staff. One morning I left behind a small fabric purse containing equivalent of about $30.00 and did not realize it until midday. I went back hoping to find the purse if not the contents, was immediately approached by the head waiter and received back my purse with everything intact. Hotel offered breakfast bar that was better than free continental breakfast you can find at most US hotels, but nowhere as good as in European hotels. People staying at the hotel included Americans, Canadians, Brits, Dutch, Germans and Latin Americans.

We stayed by the pool, went to town often(5 minute cab ride, 25 minute walk), took the ferry to Cozumel to snorkle. Service was friendly and good. [...] a good hotel we would recommend to others.

Need a car here. Nice facilities and secure. The Jacuzzi was broken and there were charges for the SPA so the only facility to use was the pool. Breakfast was repetitive and cold often. There were added charges for most things which is annoying, especially for late check outs. Had to ask for more towels and sheets a few times. Room was nice but small, dark and facing the hallway. This is not a 4 star hotel.

This Hotel was very hard to find,we were fortunate to speak Spanish and local, told us were the Hotel entrance was located,the entrance to the hotel is tikal, which is a condo complex, then you have to drive to the end of the condos and at the left side you will see a piramide shape building, which is the Spa, there was not one single sign with the hotel name at the street entrance.We almost gave up,after driving in circles a good 30 minutes.

We enjoyed the beautiful location next to the golf course, the nice decor, and the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately the hotel no longer offers free entry to the adjoining spa nor the shuttle to the beach. The water in the pool is freezing. The walk to the beach takes 20 minutes but is pleasant.
