Barcelo Riviera Maya All Inclusive Complex

I would like to say that it is perfect for three nights.

The staff was very friendly and the environment was stress free for the entire stay. We never had to worry about food or drinks and when we had any questions, the staff was very helpful. The water activities are a lot of fun and often booked. The beach is splendid and the water warm.

This is our second time around at Barcelo Maya All Inclusive. The first time, we had a blast! It is a particularly kid-friendly place (for kids all ages from 2 to 12 years old). Lots of activities for everyone, from water sports, to pool-side entertainment. Our first time around, we had no complains about the place. This second time we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms and somewhat let down by the quality of the food. I would still recommend this place. I've stayed at 3 other all-inclusive resorts in the Riviera Maya, and Barcelo is the best of them.

Fantastic, hard to improve on anything. This is our second time here and it is just as good as the first, may be better. The pools are amazing, the staff was very, very accommodating, nights were quiet even though there are many people there vacationing. Beaches are out of this world, food is good - I'd go again in a second.

Our stay at the Barcelo resort was everything and more than we had ever expected. From the time of check in until check out we were amazed by the welcoming staff, the wonderful meals, the beautiful beaches, the pools, the rooms, everything was so perfect. Everything was always clean and tidy. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the grounds were gorgeous. It really was above and beyond what we expected, we will be back for sure. Loved it.

My family and I (mom, brother and his wife) have been to this resort 3 years running and I can't see us not going next year either. The snorkeling is fantastic... sea turtles, sting rays, a barracuda and so many fish. We usually stay at the Colonial/Tropical and absolutely love it, but this time we got a free upgrade to the Palace, which was spectacular, but I can honestly say that I wouldn't be disappointed going back to our usual. I can't say enough about this resort, except that if you go, you won't regret it. I recommend it to everyone

The resort was fabulous. The location was beautiful and beaches pristine. The snorkelling was really good. The only downfall was trying to book reservations at the a la carte restaurants as it seemed to be a hassle. I'd return.

My wife and I stayed there the whole week and it was an amzing view with lots of fun things to do on and off site.

We were at the Barcelo Tropical for 8 nights, from april 21th to the 29th. Nice location, turtles everyday in front of the hotel, nice beach, pool, food was good and plentiful. Shows were excellent! Only drawback are the beds that are really hard (but I can live with that for a week) and the fact that they shut the lights on the balconies at 11pm. We have kids that sleep in the room and we like to stay out on the balcony and play cards. I was really bummed out by this. Good thing we are ressourceful and found a lamp from the room and took it outside on the floor of the balcony. But all in all, it's good value. Transfers from the airport with USA Transfers : impeccable. Aeromexico : horrible.

This hotel was pretty good for the money, but came up short in a few spots. The food was good at the buffets, but was very repetitive overall (both lunch and dinner were the exact same). The specialty restaurants were good, but almost too fancy for my taste. Don't go looking for things like conch fritters or jerk chicken at the Caribbean restaurant. There are a lot of activities, but we rarely took advantage so I can't speak to most of them, but the snorkeling was very good. The towel game was definitely on around the pool where there are far too few chairs for such an enormous pool. However, there are always plenty of chairs on the beach. The staff works hard, especially the ones at the restaurants. I was not overly impressed by the front desk staff, but they weren't terrible. They really need to add a couple bars for night time. The only bar was the lobby bar, which was very loud and full of big wedding groups. Some of the wedding groups were fine, but some definitely embraced the group mentality. There is a lot of walking and it seems to get longer throughout the week, but it gives you a chance to explore the property and see the nice landscaping. The rooms were great except for the beds. I didnt hate the bed, but it was lumpy and the pillows were very small - seems like easy upgrades to me. Most other things about the hotel were on par with what you expect for the Riviera. Overall it was good and I would go back, but I would also be open to seeing other places.
