This residence-hotel located in a charming authentic 18th century Riad Souiri in the heart of the pedestrian Medina, has been luxuriously renovated in mauro-Andalusian style. Fabulous hotel in the Medina, great location, fantastic service, wonderful ambience ... all at a great price. Highly recommended, one of the best hotels we have stayed at anywhere in the world.

It is a nice hotel with all possibilities inside. I critisize the service, it was almost non existing. No warm welcome, when we arrived, the receptionist sitting far away and rising unwillingly from her desk. The hotel had a nice fireplace, nether lightened inspite of the chilly weather, no lanterns either (this was not the case in other hotels which we visited). The breakfast at the fine terrass was also served
by a depressed waiter. Outside around the corner, beggers going through the dustbins in the dark street (of course not the fault of the hotel but a a little better lighting would be helpful for the clients).

The hotel is a perfect option for the budget traveller for location & services. The hotel has its own outdoor pool as well as a solarium.(09/10 AK) The exterior is a white building with balconies. Ideally located just 150 meters from the sandy beach of Essaouira and really close to La Medina & The Port with its famous fish stalls.

Description
With the room price is included Essaouira VIP airport transfer in & out (provided by the hotel) - the hotel must be called in advanced by the guest to arrange the pick up time - , Moroccan sweets in the room, traditional Moroccan slippers & free access to the Hamman & Jacuzzi. We highly recommend the experience of staying in this property. (11/09 SB) The exterior is a traditional morocan wealthy family house in La Medina. This Riad is located inside La Medina of Essaouira. The riad is close to the street markets as well as the Kasbah but it is also in walking distance to the port and its fantastic fresh fish stalls. The beach is minutes away too.

The Rias al Zahia is situated in a small, quiet side-street in the city zone Medina of Essaouira. The antique building was renovated and offers a drawing-room, in which the guest can sit down cozily at the fireplace and read books, as well as a terrace with outlook over the sea and the surrounding roofs. Hotel is a 20-30 minute walk from the medina, but it's a nice walk down the beach. Basic, nice hotel with clean rooms and a nice pool. The staff, however, was extremely unhelpful on every occasion we had to interact with them, and wouldn't even help us get a taxi from the hotel to the bus station. We had to drag our luggage down to the main road a kilometer away and nearly missed our connection.
