perfect stay

This hotel is in a great spot, a bit outside the tourist areas but everything good is easily accessible. The rooms are always spotless and the staff is faultlessly polite and helpful, which is a big difference from some places in Amsterdam. I absolutely love it and it is the only place I stay in Amsterdam now. Thanks heaps!

NYE at Bilderberg Garden

Brilliant! Fantastically helpfull staff, lovely room, clean and tidy hotel. Lovely walk from hotel to museumplein, but plenty of trams to choose from. We are planning on returning very soon, we wouldnt even consider staying anywhere else. Bar drinks were very expensive though, 30 Euro for 2 double irish cream drinks seems excessive!

Good Stay in Amsterdam

Nice alternative next door to more expensive Hilton in quiet residential neighborhood. A bit out of city center, but easy walking/tram to all points of interest and services. Very comfortable room - only comment is no A/C and rooms tend to be hot (we were there in October/November). Pleasant staff. Didn't use restaurant, but looked nice (and on expensive side, but that's Amsterdam).

Quiet retreat in Amsterdam

The room was a nice size compared to other places I stayed. The hotel is spotless clean. A superieur comfortable large King size bed with beautiful high quality sheets and diverse pillows, not always the case in Amsterdam city when you single. There was tea and coffee making available in the room with a good size minibar. Dutch mini cookies waffles and a fresh green apple daily. The hotel is 5' walk from the tram line to Zuid sation where you can easily reach Schiphol Airport. The tram 5 also brings you to the center of Amsterdam. I rented a bicycle, provided at the hotel, to visit the Vondel park nearby and Amsterdamse bos (woods) which I enjoyed a lot.. I will go back to this hotel even if it's not a real 5 stars as other reviewers stated correctly, the service was five stars though. The Bilderberg Garden hotel's restaurant the Kersentuin is outstanding and the 16 Euros breakfast is worth every penny.

AWESOME

AWESOME. I was traveling through the UK, Netherlands and France with a friend and planned to meet my husband in Amsterdam. This hotel was our meeting point. Good stop to go with girlfriends or as a couple. In fact it was our favorite hotel of the whole trip! People were friendly, attentive, and first rate, but not stuffy. It was clean, modern, comfortable. I regret not trying the restaurant, but enjoyed the lounge and local- only 5-10 minute walk from the tram and in a quiet and attractive neighborhood that had more of a suburb feel which I like much better than the touristy center full of coffee shops and bars.

Bilderberg nice, definitely not 5 star

The Bilderberg Hotel is a nice hotel to stay in. It is located close the tram so that you can easily get to main attractions in Amsterdam. Now, my experience with hotels in Europe are that the quality is usually far less than other parts of the world (U.S. Asia) for the money, so I'm not quite sure how Bilderberg ranks with other hotels in Amsterdam. They advertise this place as a 5 star hotel and it is more like a 3 star. The bathrooms are nice, which is huge for me. The TV in the room was tiny and old (no flat screen as is common in most 5 star hotels). Room service was kind of a joke. The furnishings of the room are kind of drab. The room itself was rather small. That all said, this was the best deal I could find!

Good hotel

The hotel not in the main part of town, but just a minute walk to the train stop and a short ride to the main part of town. The neighborhood is clean and seems to be safe. The staff was helpful. I would stay here again.

Good and lovely location

The hotel is not exactly at the city centre but travelling by tram takes only about 10mins, and the location of the hotel is in an upmarket part of Amsterdam, quiet and peaceful. The staff are good and polite and eager to help with enquiries. The down side are 1)quiet small rooms 2)the bath tup is built high and you can trip and fall over when climbing out; this should be addressed before someone suffer an injury 3)there is no free flowing air in the bathroom and room 4)a 5* hotel?? 5)and last but not least the small kettle took about 10 mins to boil water! All in all a plesant stay and I would go back. Reccommended...... err yes.

Try the chips with tomato sauce at the city centre...where exactly, you will find it, a sign says "voted the best chips in Amsterdam". The food at McDonalds espc the apple pies and fillet of fish are more edible than the UK. If you like Chinese try the one called Wing Kee, where....you find that out yourself. Take a short tour to Volemdam and the Windmills, its worth it and by the way a young tour guide with curly hair by the name of [...] was brilliant. He spoke several European languages including Italian. Amsterdam, fantastic, laid back and cosmopoliton city, and by the way the Dutch are always polite when you ask them for directions.
