Good, but far
The hotel was great -- clean, excellent staff and even better bed -- but we didn't realize how far from the city center we'd be. It's definitely a better business-traveler locale than tourist.

Classy hotel in classy district
This was our first trip to Amsterdam and were unsure of the different areas, from the airport we got metro to Zoid station rather than Centraal station, then hopped on tram 5 to Apollolaan, the hotel was a short walk along a lovely tree line avenue, wonderful first impression, having seen the route from Centraal station a few days later I'm glad I avoided the touristy bits straight away. The hotel itself very well presented, quiet and very comfortable. The staff were all very professional and polite. My only negative was the lack of free wifi (9€ for 24hrs) and the distance to the centre (30min walk) but the trams are frequent and easy to navigate, all in all a lovely relaxed trip.

Nice hotel
We got an executive room. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. Never slept better. Not the best location if you wanted to be in the middle of amsterdam. However the 5 & 24 trams get you anywhere you want and it is a short walk to the stops. Great jacuzzi tub. Great Staff. I lived in Holland for a year so I didnt need help getting around but they were very friendly. Two down sides were. they charge a lot for internet & restaurant was closed and room service is extremely expensive. Fast tram ride to Amsterdam Zuid and direct to the airport. Biggest houses in the neighborhood I've ever seen in Holland.

We paid for a basic room but were upgraded to executive :-) hotel was clean friendly and staff were perfect, they bring fresh fruit everyday to the room free of charge. Bar is not expensive but the resteraunt is so we ate out most nights. Location is away from city Ctr but trams are 5 min away and it's a 5 min ride to the Ctr, we got a travel pass for 3 days any time use for trams and buses which only cost 16euros. Great hotel

Wonderful hotel!
We spent three nights in a standard room and we absolutely loved it. Very clean, comfortable beds. The only thing missing was a free Internet access.

Relaxing vacation
Pleasant helpful and patient desk staff Considerate and helpful but not completely reliable as to information given. Accessible through the Amsterdam South train station and the 5 tram heading north to Amsterdam center, exit at Appollolaan street, 4 stops, walk West a block turn right and you are on the street of the hotel. Five minute walk. No gym facilities, no health spa, no pool. Cleanly and considerate room cleanup. Requested a 50 euro per day commitment for any extra purchases. Returned at the end of the stay

Classy Location, Classy Hotel
Nicely located on a side street near a pretty canal and across from the Hilton. Smiling, helpful staff, even smells good as you enter (probably has some sort of fragrance generator - seriously). Rooms average size but well appointed. Located in a pleasant, high rent district, short walk from two commercial streets with a good choice of restaurants. Only negative is extra cost for internet - $8 for an hour, about $15 for a day. It should be included for a hotel of this caliber.

NYE at Bilderberg Garden
Brilliant! Fantastically helpfull staff, lovely room, clean and tidy hotel. Lovely walk from hotel to museumplein, but plenty of trams to choose from. We are planning on returning very soon, we wouldnt even consider staying anywhere else. Bar drinks were very expensive though, 30 Euro for 2 double irish cream drinks seems excessive!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
A 5 minute walk head to the local family run Italian restaurant, or make the most of a great local supermarket for fresh salads, meat, cheese and baguettes for a cosy night in
