Excellent location. A very basic hotel. The staff are friendly but don't necessarily give you the best of advice for nights out. Perfect place for walking to attractions.

Dining tip:

eat alot of cheaper foods, the sites that alot of people would go to are generally relatively expensive. the cheaper you eat, the more you can essentially spend for yourself.

Really small room, but comfortable bed
I have a closet bigger than this room. We had a comfortable double bed, but only one of us could be standing up, walking around, at one time. Also, we had 2 small pieces of luggage. Trying to figure out where to put them was a creative challenge. If you have bigger than a 20" case, good luck. There's no doubt, though, if you're looking to stay in the midst of activity, this is the place. The front door opens up to bustle. You're a few blocks walk from the train station (go up Damrak, turn left at the phallic monument, walk on the right sidewalk, and voila!). We were not unsatisfied with our stay; we just would have appreciated more space and none was available, or so they said.

Sightseeing tip:
Not Applicable
We took a very simple train trip to The Hague to see the Mauritshuis Museum. If you like Vermeers, go there too. Once in The Hague, get on a tram to the museum area. You'll be able to find your way back to the train station by walking.

Lovely place!
One of the nicest hotels I have stayed at in a while. It wasn't so much the room, the people that worked there made the experience that much better. They were pleasant and accomodating. I have to admit, the bed was one of the best parts. It was soft and comfortable. Perfect location!! I have been to Amsterdam before, and stayed at a place that was so far out of the way, I got blisters just getting to the places that I wanted to see.

This a budget hotel but not a budget price , Our room was 4m x 4m Room did not look anything like the ones on the hotel website. A box with a bed and a bathroom the size of a telephone box, TV reception was rubbish, very limated wardrobe space, Room at the top (pack an oxeygen mask) Great location the only saving grace.

exactly what we expected
The hotel always had clean towels and friendly people at the front desk. We didn't spend much time in the room for the 4 days we were there, but it was in the middle of everything a group of upper 20 year olds would want. Bathroom was small, but clean. The beds were a little small, but comfortable. There is no AC so if it was hot I can imagine it would be uncomfortable, but we just cracked the window at night and it was fine. I would go back, it was perfect for the price. There is tons to do and eat in the area, the hotel doesn't have a dining room.

Great location & the front desk
Great location & the front desk staff were very friendly & helpful. Our room was alright for a budget traveller. However, it was not properly cleaned by the cleaners while we were out. The hotel does not provide bath soap or shampoo.
