Amazing hotel for couples
Beautiful hotel, there are still some renovations going on. Right next to amsterdam centraal. However its a bit of a far walk to the museum district.

Not a five star hotel
We stayed there for one night, on the Christmas Eve. There was no place for us to dine in the hotel, but this is not what the problem was. The hotel looked really old, it surely needs a renovation because it looks like it belongs to the 80s. I wouldn't rate it as a five star hotel, it's borderline as a four star. In addition, I wasn't crazy about the staff either, they were not really helpful with the luggage and the whole check in thing. Total dissappointment.

Top Location and Experience
Great Staff, always willing to help and guide you with a great attitude. Room was large and very comfortable. SPA is great and Food at Bar and Restaurant is high quality with very good professional service. I will come back, probably in the summer.

Quite an experience,Unbelievable beautiful building with lots of history.
Nice staff, nice welcome, only one mishap. The wake up call at 5AM in the morning was not performed. We asked the night before. Our alarm clock was set, so no big deal, but it was a flaw. We hope that the people in 209 were not getting the call. Black countertops in the bathroom, make for not so clean looking amenities. They show spots that seems to be dirty,but are relatively clean.

Eat breakfast outside the hotel. There are a lot of options in the neigborhood. Walking distance to Central Station with lots of opportunities. A great place to start your experience in Amsterdam.

Great for couples
Beautiful place!! I cannot express how much I enjoyed staying here. Even after reading the reviews on TrAdv. we decided to stay here. My wife and I (in our twenties) where more than delighted by the staff. True to dutch form the staff was polite and prompt. In every aspect.. from the front desk, to room service and even the spa (nice size indoor pool), the staff was always ready to accommodate. The rooms were quirky and unique. 24 hour room service was always delivered quickly, no matter what time of day. A few things...No pay TV channels available and internet can be choppy in some rooms. Together my wife and I have stayed in 3 rooms...one better than the next, definitely not a cookie cutter hotel. Amazing will be back again!

Perfect hotel for Amsterdam
We found this hotel to be the best choice. It is beautiful and service was excellent. Even better is the location as it is just across the street from Centraal Station.

Historic Building
The room was comfortable, especially the bed. The closet area had a very high bar for clothes that I could not reach, so I was not able to hang up my clothes. The window (city & water view) was also very high. I could not see the promised view unless I stood on my tip toes. The staff were very helpful, and the restaurant was good, but not special. The bathtub was large and deep, but the shower was a fiberglass unit . The hotel is very interesting, and attractive, but it was a challenge to find our room as hallways meander, and seem to go on endlessly. I might stay there again, but our experience was more like a 4 star hotel, rather than a 5.
