Great hotel in a great location
Hotel is a 5 min walk from Amsterdam central. The hotel staff were friendly and the rooms were nice. The concierge was helpful in suggesting tours and local places to eat. I would definitely stay there again.

great location in the heart of things
Enjoyed our stay at this hotel....with a few quirks. Our room was in a terrible location, with unused elevators which ran all day-very noisy, making rest almost impossible. No hand towels, or wash cloths at all- kind of unusual. Hotel was clean. Staff at hotel was excellent - tried to accommodate in every way (except for those elevators!). Great location, close walk to most tourist areas or Central Station. Would stay here again.

A Fabulous Hotel Stay
Our 8 day stay at the Grand Amrath Hotel was perfect. The building is old with lots of charm but the rooms are updated where you would want them to be. The location is great, very close to Centraal Train Station, where you catch trains, trams, subway and buses. The hotel has a very good restaurant and a wonderful buffet breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel.

We went to see Boom! Chicago, a comedy club show.It was really funny and entertaining. I don't recommend eating there as the food was not great. The cast is American so no language problem.

Amsterdam as it should be
The Amrath is a quirky, fun hotel with excellent ameneties and accommodating staff. The rooms with city views cannot be beat. The location is perfect for a first time visitor as it is a simple 5 min walk from central station.

The locations of the hotel was excellent, but the room was small and the glass shower divider was broken and the floor accumulated a lot of water.

Grand time and the Amrath
The hotel was fantastic, the service was great. Check in was a little slow as the hotel does not have a standard lobby or desks, but everyone was quick to respond and got us anything we needed. The room was a little small but was sufficient.

It is a short walk from the Centrum train station to the Amrath. Don't bother getting a taxi unless you have more bags than you can handle for a 5-10 minute walk.

great location and the staff was even be
overall I would rate our stay a 9 out of 10. The hotal could make the stay a little eaiser if there food prices were more competitive. Only had one meal and realized we could get the same food on the streets for less than half the price.But maybe thats how they off set the free mini bar,whick is free by the way as long as you follow the rules. Overall don't think it could have been much better.

Very strange atmosphere but overall good
overall pretty good. all the look&feel is kinda old and scary. very lame reception (you have to sit on chairs in a side room), nothing too fancy. the bed worths everything!

Great Customer Service & Good Location
Amrath had the best customer service I've seen in a European hotel. Every single staff member was unfailingly polite, helpful and super friendly. The location is good- 10 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. Good restaurants were just around the corner. Rooms were very comfortable,clean and updated. Mini-bar was complimentary & replaced everyday. Only bad part was that bathroom was not as clean as it could be- stains on towels, threadbare & stained robes, and dirty vanity. Otherwise the hotel was top notch.

There's a huge variety of over 100 restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. There's everything from McDonalds to high end Dutch cuisine. Our favorite was an Indian place around the corner called Ganesha.
