Basic hotel, great location
The hotel looks nice on arrival. The man at the desk was very friendly and told us where all the main attractions were. If its coffee shops you are going for the location was great. Walking distance to all the mains streets. It's walking distance to some big attractions like the museums but some were just a short tram journey away. The bedroom was very small. We were on the 5th floor facing the front, great view. Bit noisy but I quite like the noise. Unfortunately where we were in the roof the wall sloped making it impossible to sit up in bed and all there was were two plastic chairs. The tv only had dutch channels except the news. Good floor for smokers as it has a nice balcony. The room was beyond freezing. We had to ask for another duvet and still slept in a jumper and 2 pairs if socks. It was about -6 in dam at the time though, but could do with some heating! The rooms don't have tea/coffee facilities and the cafe isn't open ask day. Over all if its just a bed you are after it's fine. We paid £45 a night for 3 nights and I think that was quite a lot for what you get. Also I woke twice to a cleaner barging in even though the do not disturb sign was on, not great. Probably would spend a bit more for somewhere else next time.

Just Fair
Had single room....bed sagged at least 100mm when lying in it...Staff mislead me on breakfast details when I enquired.....Thus paying double for a rip off breakfast ($16) that...Note: Hotel restaraunt hygene was poor. Lot of hallway noise in middle of night from drunk or stoned kids. Location is the only thing here.

Location is perfect
Great location across from Centraal Station, so it is a minute walk to trains, trams. Staff was very friendly and helpful even providing electric converters as I forgot mine. Rooms were quiet, had access to fresh air. Beds were comfortable and rooms were cleaned daily. This is a no frills hotel experience, but Amsterdam creates its own frills in the city.

Decent Affordable Hotel
The Bellevue Hotel is a decent affordable hotel. its a great choice for people who are on a budget and plan to spend the bulk of their time exploring what the city has to offer and need a place to sleep. Within walking distance to several main attractions. Also, close to central station and city tram which makes it easy to explore other sections of the city, the countryside, or other European countries. Hotel room was small but clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It felt secure by restricting access to the lobby (at night) and elevators to people with room keys. Also had a room safe allowing a safe place to store valuables. Only downfall was that I wish this site told me that I would owe city tax on the hotel room when I check out. City tax is not covered in the price given. For one week stay it was about $120 extra.

Great Value, Great Location
Before I begin, let me say that I am a single traveler who prefers three star budget hotels, so note that my review is based on this criterion. That said, here are the reasons I give this hotel a 4 star (in no particular order) …. Location - The hotel is only 1 block from Amsterdam Central Station, so you can take the train from AMS airport to Amsterdam Central Station, which is only four euros and only takes 20 minutes and then walk 1 block to the hotel. This makes returning to the airport nice too, a real money saver over a taxi. Also, the Hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam, so short walk to most stuff …. Staff – The staff was amazing. Easy to understand (I only speak English) and very helpful. They gave me a city map and took time to point out where everything is. They gave me an extra pillow on request and my wake-up call was on-schedule … Room Quality – As stated earlier, I would rather pay less for my hotel and bring my own shampoo, so I usually go for three star hotels, but this hotel exceeded my expectations. The bed was small but surprising comfortable, the sheets were high quality, included a duvet. The room was very small, but I don’t spend a lot of time in the room, so I’m ok with a small room. (Your mileage may vary). The room included a free safe, free WiFi (which worked in the room), flat screen TV, shelf/drawers, quality A/C, a tiny bathroom, built-in hair blower and a shower with hot water that stayed hot and awesome water pressure! I was on the 4th floor. My room did not have a view, but a nice surprise is that my window opened, so I could air out the room! That was HUGE, as I love the smell of fresh air. I would recommend to anyone looking for these traits in a hotel. Happy travels.

Short walk from hotel
Take the train from AMS airport to Amsterdam Central Station for only four euros as it only takes 20 minutes and then walk 1 block to the hotel. Saves money over a taxi.
