3 nights stay Amsterdam

Good quality hotel in good location with very helpful english speaking staff. Rooms have been recently refitted with rustic decor but have good storage space, new beds and are kept clean. Good breakfast area with good choice on offer. Hotel has left luggage facility - have been here now 4 times and will book again.

Tiny rooms

On arrival, looked great from outside - nice street, smart frontage with canopy, good location. Not so good inside. Very dark reception, very steep stairs ( with filthy carpet though we discovered later that they are in the process of replacing them). We had 2 rooms - one double and one twin. Twin room was OK (though small). At the front, good use of space, window that opened. Double room not good at all. Layout poor, bed high and against wall so had to scramble to get in, at back of hotel overlooking a yard and the back of other buildings. In both rooms, shower room was ok - good power showers, nice toiletries, good towels changed every day - but tiny again. Breakfast good and plentiful, as you would expect from Northern European hotel - coffee, chocolate, juices, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, lots of different breads, ham, cheese, jam etc, eggs. Gret location. 5 minutes from museums, 10 minutes from vondelpark, 15 minutes from lots of restaurants, 20 minutes walk from city centre. We walked everywhere but there are plenty of trams and buses yards from the hotel. Would we go back? Probably not. It was just a bit too cramped.

Good location, good value.

Stayed as a couple for three nights midweek. Perfect for what we wanted. Cheap with a good location. Trams run pretty much to the front door but we walked everywhere. Walls are thin so could see it getting rowdy at weekends. Bed was super comfortable, bathroom was tiny but everything is small in Amsterdam! Breakfast was basic - toast, cheese, cold meats etc but ample for our needs. No complaints and would book again.

NO HOT SHOWER

This hotel is not bad but not good either. Checked in at 14.00, they charged me for wifi and it was really slow. first thing tried to take a shower. I got Luke warm water. For about 5 min then cold water. Tried to take another shower at 19.00, still no hot water. It was 6 degrees that night and there is no way to control the heat. So the room was cold all night. They did give me a good blanket. But getting out of bed it was really cold. Then next morning at 9.00 Still no hot water. Then attended the breakfast buffet that is included in the price, it was your typical continental breakfast, except no coffee or tea. You had to buy coffee and tea from the cafe in the hotel and the prices were 250% more than anywhere I have bought coffee in Amsterdam. Then when I check out they hit me with the city tax fee.

Nice modern style hotel, good for short stay

Nice hotel with helpful staff, near to transport in a quiet road. Rooms are modern with good storage, kept clean and functional. Built in safe for valuables. Even has a lift, which not all Amsterdam hotels have. Been there twice and will book again next time.

70th birthday present

Fun hotel which was ideal for the museums. Quiet & clean. Small room but adequet. Excellent breakfast. Would have liked to be able to make a drink in the room. Overall good value for money. Bathroom had no hanging or shelf space & water was very hot.
