Opulent Okura

Fantastic hotel. Can't fault service, amenities and attention to detail. Great view of the canal and the city from our room on the 8th floor. The rooms were amazing. True 5* quality with a contemporary finish. Restaurants were quite expensive however there are local restaurants and bars within walking distance. Taxi into Dam Square was €15, 10-15 ish minutes, or there is a tram stop within walking distance. You can also hire a boat just outside the hotel but they were fully booked for the next 2 days. The hotel has an outdoor seating area which leads onto the canal. Very convenient for relaxing whilst having breakfast or watching the boats go by. Wasn't keen on paying €15 to use the gym, this is unheard of for a 5* hotel!! Neither was I keen to pay to use the Internet. Not in this day and age. Would I return? Could be persuaded by free gym & internet & a 30% discount on a dining experience. Maybe that would help me overcome the distance to Dam Square.

Nice hotel. However, Airco in room was poor, and therefore, slept poorly. Also, people in next room arose at 05:00 and had a nice, loud conversation! Some people just don't care....

It's very nice place to stay.

It's very nice hotel but bit expensive. Especially for use of internet will cost you 17.00 Europe. No coffee and tea in the room. Cup of coffee cost about 6.00 Europe in hotel restaurant. You have to pay for to use fitness center and pool. Overall stay was very pleasant. Everybody there were very helpful, friendly. We will defiantly go back there again.

It's a 5 star Hotel

This is a 5 star hotel with a convinced location. I would go back there next time. One thing I didn't like about was no coffee or tea in the room and you have to pay for use the fitness or the pool or internet. People there were very helpful and friendly.

We were allocated a room on the

We were allocated a room on the 10th floor, the room was small, shabby and dated, I would class as a poor 3 star. We were very disappointed in the room for a 5 star hotel. The main problem was the renovations taking place. The noise was so bad we could hear them drilling and ripping down walls. This was 11am and we were told they would finish at 4pm; after a long journey we were tired and requested to be moved. After a short wait we got to meet the Guest Relations Manager - she was excellent and agreed to move the entire party (3 rooms) to another floor and upgrade the rooms. Her handling of the problem is why I have scored 5 for service. Our new room on the 4th floor and was large, modern with a separate work area. The bathroom was huge. The overall impression of the hotel is of a dinosaur living off it's old reputation as a 5 star hotel. While we were there the 23rd Floor champagne bar and restaurant were closed due to the renovations; the business centre was also closed.
