Remco Hotel Amsterdam City West

hotel was good value for money i had a family room which was a good size and perfectly adequate for our needs but could do with a bit of updating, on my stay i decided to use the gym which seemed to be well equipped unfortunatly a lot of the equiptment didn't work. whats the point in having thousands of pounds worth of gym equiptment but not replacing £3 worth of batteries so they can be used. overall good hotel

Difficult to reach by public transport. Reception not very friendly, probably linked to receptionist.

It´s an old building, nevertheless the facilities are good, on the outskirts of Amsterdamin the middle of middle class houses. It will take you at least 30 minutes to get to the city centre. Restaurant is ok, but don´t take the onion soup it´s a tomato soup with onions. Anyway it´s good quality for it´s price though with it´s limitations.

This is a hotel in a bad neighborhood, far from any dining or shopping places. No english newspapers, no english tv, and except for breakfast, nothing much to eat there. No electrical adapters. Taxis have a hard time finding it.

We stayed on the 15th of May here because we had a 5 hour layover from Nice to Amsterdam to LAX. I called ahead of time and was informed that there would be a shuttle available to pick us up and take us back in the morning. Well we arrive 10:30 pm and it turns out service finished at 9:30, so we ended up taking a taxi that cost us 50.00 euro - aka $65.00 US!!!! Anyways, so since the taxi took all euros, I asked if the hotel had a ATM, and he said no. We would have to walk about 15 minutes to a mall for cash. I ask for the shuttle info, he points over to a stand and the first shuttle does not go out until 7:30 am and we had to be at the airport at 6am???!!!. So boys and girls, the moral of the story iis that its a clean hotel but they should be more clear about the shuttle service and not be considered an airport hotel. If I would to do this all over I would stay with what I am familiar, hotel that does have a shuttle service all night and day long because it caters to airport/layover clients.

hotel calme avec parking surveillé situe à 1/2heure du centre d'amsterdam mais bien desservi par le tram.bon compromis malgre le prix.

le point négatif de cet hôtel bien tenu et à l'accueil généralement excellent est son emplacement. En dépit d'une caméra extérieure, notre véhicule a eu la vitre brisée bien qu'il fut légèrement à gauche de la sortie et sous l'oeil des caméras. Par contre, le personnel a fait tout ce qu'il fallait pour atténuer ce désagrément. Généralement l'accueil est excellent, à l'exception inévitable d'un employé moins aimable. Les équipements de l'hôtel sont très bons, salle de sport, hot spot, accès internet dans les chambres, restaurant, distributeurs de boissons et friandises...
