Bad parking etc let down comfy hotel

I stopped off at the hotel while passing through on a business trip. While at first sight it looked OK (apart from the gaggles of conference delegates outside the main door, who had obviously lunched well), I was quite disappointed to be refused a seat in the almost empty restaurant at about 2130 - it all seemed to much trouble for them. Then the check out lady, having delighted me with an unexpectedly high (€50) parking fee, decided to make fun of my name. All in all, this hotel needs to learn customer service and good manners. On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable, and the guy parking cars was most helpful (but at €50 a night he should be).

EXCELLENT HOTEL IN PERFECT LOCATION

Would like more "what's going on this week in Amsterdam" kind of material available in lobby - booklets, better local map from check-in counter - Also - "too narrow" bath tubs need more handles, mat maybe, felt insecure bathing - Very pleased with all hotel employees -

Great hotel, outstanding staff.

The Renaissance Hotel is well located and well within walking distance of the central train station. The stafff is business-like but friendly and they are there to help you when you need it.I was under the impression that breakfast was included in the price of the room. Unfortunately it seems that it wasn't and the [...] confirmation e-mail printout did not reference it. Please try and offer this option in the future.

Great hotel in a great location.

Great hotel in great location. Close to all the stuff you need to see and close to central station that can take you everywhere else. Staff was just ok. They did their job well, but did not go above and beyond

Great business hotel in central location

The hotel was in an excellent location within walking distance to Amsterdam Centraal station. The rooms were clean and if you get a room with a king-sized bed, fairly spacious. However, internet is expensive and there is no water kettle in the room (meaning no free tea or coffee). We opted to eat out for all of our meals as our stay didn't include breakfast.

The hotel is located very near

The hotel is located very near central train station and is very convenient. We were very upset when we checked in, we were given a very small room. The staff from "delighted to serve" office claimed that it is the last available room and refused to do anything. When we told her that in fact our booking is confirmed for triple and a much a bigger room, she reluctantly looked for another room and again claimed that it was the last available room. We were really surprise at her attitude. As the next day, when we requested for late check out, another staff from the same office was really helpful and pleasant. Another thing is the hotel has no swimming pool though it is a 5 star hotel.

Great but expensive internet access

Everything is great about this hotel - great location, nice service and people, clean and comfort room and bedding. however, there is no WiFi signal in the room, internet access is expensive, eg. 7 Euro/hour from room. The free internet is only available in the lobby. There is free/weak WiFi signal in the lobby and four computers with limited free access time in the lobby. It is a bit disappointing not having free WiFi for such a great hotel.

very nice hotel

great stay at this hotel. really great location in the heart of the center area. close to the train station for the airport, walking distance to dam square, the jordaan area, etc. rooms are nicely updated. very clean. one complaint i have is the room i had was up 2 different elevators and felt very far away. so you go down 2 stairs in the lobby then up 2 elevators. why? and expensive. but i guess all amsterdam is quite expensive for hotels

Wonderful and great location too!

Hotel is very nice, clean and super friendly. Loved our room- more like an american hotel room size than europe which is nice. Many english TV channels and great club room with beer and breakfast every morning and afternoon. The location is perfect for all attractions and the hotel staff is helpful. You can buy tickets for most attractions in the lobby. We have stayed at this hotel twice and had a great stay both times!
