Location, location, location.

Easily walkable to major areas of interest: canals, xxx, museums, palace, anne frank, park, etc. Very near to Central Station so can take train from airport and then 10 min walk to hotel. It's not a fancy hotel but it is a good staging area to visit points of interest.

Convent Hotel - Perfect Location - Value for your €

The Convent Hotel in Amsterdam was wonderful. A 5-minute walk from the train station, the hotel is a perfect location for seeing most of the Amsterdam sights via walking. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious, hotel staff professional and supportive, the rooms are not large but space is optimized so there are extra chairs, a desk, a table, nice TV, mini-bar and a king size comfortable bed with excellent down pillows. The bathroom was clean and while the water pressure in the shower was not the strongest I have experienced, it was a lot better than some hotels I stayed. I will look for Convent Hotels in other cities I visit.

Brilliant weekend away

The hotel is very close to the train station (5mins walking distance) and everyone was very helpful in getting us there when asked. When reaching the hotel we had a warm welcome from the porter on door step and the reception staff were equally as friendly. The room was very clean the only issue was the bed was two large singles put together with a board on top (as most hotels do), but this made the bed slightly uncomfortable. The next morning when we went down to breakfast the cleaning staff were very polite on our floor and we were greeted for breakfast. The breakfast was very nice and a good selection. When we went out for the day, we realised how well located the hotel was. A few minutes to the left were two large shopping centres, madame tussads, the royal palace, shopping streets and restaurants. A really relaxing stay.

Convent Hotel, Amsterdam

This hotel was very modern, clean, and convenient. It is an easy 3 blocks walk from the central train station, and sits in a very nice and safe neighborhood right in the middle of the city. Most of the sights and culture one would want to see are a short walk from the hotel, and a tram runs past for trips farther from the city center. The windows have double glass to reduce sound, and the rooms are air conditioned. I found it to be extremely luxurious and modern on the inside, and beautifully historic on the outside! Like most European hotels, it would not meet American ADA standards, but that wasn't an issue for me.

I love the Convent.

Wonderful hotel, the people were very helpful, location was great...tram stop was in front of hotel. The bed was super comfy. The bartenders really took care of us at the hotel bar and we ended up chatting all night at the bar. We did not even know it was gay pride until we found the crowd, it was a blast...very welcoming people, the biggest street party I have ever been to. I will be back.

Get a tram card. We had a 3 day card and used it every chance we could. You will do a lot of walking in Amsterdam even with the card but the tram will get you anywhere quick.

Essentially, the place you want to be.

The wife and I stayed here for 3 days after a biz trip of mine in Rotterdam. An 8 min. walk from the madness that is the Amsterdam epicenter, the Convent affords you the quiet late night bars and coffee shops (NOT coffeehouses, lol)to wind down. Great little breakfast place next door, btw, called "bon appetit" or something. Staff is great, room was lovely. I'm 42, married, kids(with the in-laws this trip), and have been travelling on business and pleasure for about 25 years. And over that time, I've gotten a bit uptight about hotels. The Convent is essentially where you want to be while in Amsterdam.

Great Hotel!

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, nice clean room, and a great rate. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Amsterdam. The only minor thing we wish had been different was if the breakfast they offered had been more affordable. We ate next door for much less. Overall a FIVE STAR hotel in our book.
