Poor quality of room
Please don't think you'll get the room in the picture
These rooms are nothing like pictured. The first room I was given was in such poor condition, I couldn't imagine that they would even send someone in the room! The carpet was the worst I've ever seen, actually down to just the threads! The curtains were torn, and the chair had cigarette burn marks all over. All the furniture was was very outdated. I spoke to the desk and they gave me a different room. The second room was better, but still outdated. I never got the heater to work, and the front desk had to get the television to work properly. Wifi is not included in room rate, so I don't think they should list in under amenities. The lounge and restaurant were fine, but I wasn't looking for that when I came to Amsterdam. I was looking for the modern room that was pictured on website... That's what got my attention, but not what I received.

Taking the taxi to downtown is quick and inexpensive.. There's lots to do in Amsterdam, so that's good. You won't have to stay in the room all that much, that's if you still choose this hotel....

I believe when we got to hotel the told us no rooms in the price were available until latter that day so we up graded, afterward we noticed the place was not full and believe we were told wrong. Food service was bad waited to long and had to find someone the order coffee and desert. next day breakfast waiters were not nice telling us we could not sit on patio they were to busy, it was a buffet not much work for them. Talking to other guests they would not go back.

Wonderful trip
Best hotel in Amsterdam. However, people need to know to take a taxi directly to the hotel from the airport, don't use the train and trolley. Once checked in its easy to move about via day passes purchased on the tram.

superb hotel..great location right
superb hotel..great location right on canals and easy walk to Van Gough museum and other attraction. Staff here were fantastic, this is a 5 star hotel at 4 star cost. restaurant excellent and very reasonable, we didnt want to leave.. would highly recommend and we will certainly stay again. this is one of the nicest hotels you will find anywhere and I spend 50 + nights a year in hotels .if you go to amsterdam dont miss this!

The rooms were clean and (partially)
The rooms were clean and (partially) renewed. They were not too big but provided enough comfort. The reception hall was impressive and the lounge bar was nicely decorated. However, a fitness or other facilities were not available. It took a long time to check in and check out each time. Public transport was available near the hotel and it was also possible to go to the center by foot.
