exceptional place
ach apparently has been recently renovated. everything looks new. it is in the central business district so it is close to many of the auckland tourist sites, only two blocks from the sky tower. if i could change anything, i'd move it a little closer to the waterfront for quicker access to various transportation nodes...and make most outings uphill going out, and downhill on the return. but what really made the hotel so good, was something more remarkable these days. the staff was simply fantastic. from check-in to check-out, they took our welfare and comfort as their personal mission to ensure. highly recommended.

A Quiet Oasis
I found this hotel to be a comfortable, quiet oasis from the city center. It is ideally located, close to the major attractions of Auckland. The room and facilities are first class and the staff is helpful and professional. See my more detailed review in Trip Advisor.

A Good Choice
The hotel is in a good location in a decent neighborhood, really easy to get to and from. You can walk to Britomart transport station in 15-20 minutes, and there are lots of restaurants and shops around. The rooms aren't anything exciting, but pleasant and clean. They have limited free wifi in the lobby, and you can pay to have broadband in the room. My biggest caution would be the restaurant--it looks (and smells) better than it is--the flavor of the malaysian dish I had was great, but the texture was weird, the meat rather fatty, and the rice overcooked. The hotel also seems to be very popular with groups (particularly in their early 20's) so occasionally the lobby is completely overrun.

good hotel, great price
The hotel room was a bit small, but it wasn't an issue since it was just me there. It was also really cold when I got in --- there's no central heating, though there were two portable heaters in the room for my use. Once they got going things were good. The shower was nice. Everything was overall clean. The location of the hotel is fantastic - it's very close to Queen Street and the Skytower (easy walking distance - downhill). The front desk staff were very helpful in answering any questions I had and pointed me in the right direction when I was looking for various things. The price was fantastic for this level of hotel - I'd stay here again.

Excellent value for money, friendly
Excellent value for money, friendly and informative staff. Room was very large for a double - nice flat screen TV with Sky movies and sport included. Only negative thing is that there were damp patches + peeling paint on the ceiling above the shower.

All in all, very good. Large,
All in all, very good. Large, comfortable room, little things like tea/coffee, heater and fan all included. Excellent location, just back from the main street of Auckland, with restaurants, shops and public transport nearby. Internet charges are crazy, but they allowed 30 mins of free wifi in the lobby per day. I enjoyed my stay - recommended!

Great Location
The hotel was within walking distance of everything: Sky City, Waterfront, Shopping, Restaurants. Others have made comment about being in seedy neighborhood. Never felt that was true and walked back to hotel at night without any problem. Room was very clean and comfortable.

The room was clean and had everything
The room was clean and had everything needed for a pleasant stay. The in house parking was not acceptable due to not enough parks and having to move the vehicle for other guest to come and go.A fee was charged which surprised me. First time I have ever paid for parking.Would have liked drinking choc included and a shower cap.Overall not to bad.
