My rating of the staff needs explaining. The front desk staff was friendly and informative, but those servicing and maintaining the room fell short of reasonable expectations. Examples: hand soap used by previous guests was left in the shower, the bed was made up without a mattress pad and the bottom sheet was not properly tucked in as the sheet was put on the bed 90“ from the proper orientation, replacement towels had to be requested and were placed in the bathroom in an untidy heap and sporting several long black hairs, and carpets in the room and hall were not vacuumed during our 6 days at the hotel. The condition of the room was sub par when we arrived. Specifics: the shades in the bedroom could not be lowered fully causing issues of privacy and light intrusion at night, the top drawer of the dresser couldn't be fully closed and fell out if extended 6", the windows were very dirty and the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't function. A hook to hold a towel or robe within reach of the shower door would have been appreciated. Requests for remedy of these and a number of other issues were brought to the attention of the front desk without a satisfactory response. Our personal involvement resulted in most of the issues being addressed on the third day of our stay. We walked to Sky City which houses a casino, a number of restaurants and bars, and 2 hotels. We also walked a short distance to the harbour which is home to a number of large yachts and racing boats. We were with easy walking distance to numerous restaurants, shopping malls and botiques as well as to parks, the university, and the cultural museum. We found the hotel to be very well placed. Our taxi ride from the airport was quite pricey. For our return we walked about 2 block to Queen Street and caught the Airbus Express at a much more reasonable cost and were well pleased with the excellent service provided. We absolutely enjoyed our visit to Auckland, finding the city very liveable and the people warm and charming. Unfortunately, regarding the hotel, our opinion is that our accommodation certainly fell short of the description we had been provided: "Deluxe Suite".

I would return to this hotel if I ever come back to Auckland. It is a great city compare with others in Australia...

Even though I stayed a couple of nights only, it would be very nice to stay longer in the apartment. It is fully furnished with all necessary equipment: laundry machine, dishwasher, TV, separate bedroom, dining table, etc. Convenient location in downtown. Clean and quite enough. I'd be back with pleasure if I need to stay for a week or so. Thanks.

I woud give Chifley suites about 3 stars. We stayed here for 2 nights in July, 2012. Though the suites themselves are very spacious, clean and have suitable amenities, the customer service left something to be desired. Our phones did not work, and the 'maid service' consisted of someone coming in to just changing the towels and taking out the trash. The lobby area is very small and dingy as were the hallways. But, the location of the suites (right in the midst of downtown Auckland, and a 5 min walk to the Sky Tower) was very convenient.

Chifley suites was great! Especially enjoyed an early check in after international flight- what a treat! Staff was friendly and always helpful. Rooms were well kept, beautiful views, and everything ran perfectly, even on a holiday weekend. Location was close enough to quickly access all the tourist sites, but just far enough removed (by only a block) to keep us out of the hustle and noise of the main drag. I highly recommend it and hope to stay there again.

March 2012 We stayed at the Chifley Suites for 3 nights and were very pleased with the accommodation. The location was about a twenty minute walk to downtown and the dock area with lots of restaurants and other activities. The desk staff were very helpful in arranging a shuttle to get us to the airport. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Top floor so needed a head for heights when taking in the great view of the harbour from the balconies - we did request a high room though and it was great. Very roomy and clean apartment for four adults. Two bathrooms were great with washer/dryer and kitchen had everything we needed. Only there for a couple of nights but could comfortably have stayed much longer. Only disadvantage is lack of air con. We were lucky to have great weather and fortunately each bedroom and the sitting room had balconies so we could leave the doors open to get a bit of air. Helpful staff found an electric fan for us on the second night though. Great apartment and situation though made up for this and we would happily return and recommend.

Perfect city location, the suite was huge and extremely comfortable, with a balcony off the bedroom and sitting room with beautiful views of the harbour and sky tower. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. The street below was a little noisy but not enough to disturb my sleep or my stay. 5 stars.

we were so surprised and happy we decided to stay at the Chifley Suites, the staff was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The room itself was huge, nice living area, large bedroom and great bathroom with all the amenities. We wanted a great view and we got it! Up on the 21stfloor,a full view of the harbor and the tower, walking distance to the tower and harbor area, very close to local busses. Our room was very quiet at night, we could not hear any street noises, even with the living room window open. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the city!
