A bit dowdy

We normally love stately old hotels, but the Langham in Auckland is outdated. The staff seemed overwhelmed at checkin, and it took two tries for us to get into our room, well after 4 pm. The room itself was fine, but the view was yucky and the furnishings weren't anything special. The bathroom was a mix of old and new -- when's the last time you saw rubber drain covers in the sink and tub? Internet is provided only after you join their "club" and we kept getting kicked off if we didn't use it for awhile. Overall, a C+.

Amazing! Highly Recommended.

We couldn't have asked for a better end to our 3 week honeymoon than to stay at the Langham Hotel in Auckland. The service was spectacular, the hotel was luxurious, the food was excellent, and we enjoyed a nice spa and massage as well. Would definitely recommend if you are planning a trip to Auckland. The one possible drawback is that it is about 1 mile from the harbor, but that could be a good thing if you don't want to be in the middle of all those tourists. Also, The hotel has a free shuttle that will take you down there and pick you up every 30 minutes, from 800AM - 930PM.

Awesome Down under

Stayed with Langham as a reward for a long vacation travelling for 14 days, Don't know that you can find a better hotel. Staff is wonderful and ensures your every reqeust is honored. Very knowledgable of travel modes, best value, and a shuttle that runs to CBD all day long so you can experience all of the CBD. Rooms are very nice, room service excellent, and the Spa, steam room, sauna, heated outdoor pool and hot tub at night has spectacular views. Definite stay on our next trip.

Very nice room and great bed!

The Langham is a wonderful hotel with extremely attentive staff, a nice location, and a very comfortable room. Best bed we stayed in during our vacation in what was our fourth and final hotel with turndown service and lots of nice amenities. Only complaint is that like most hotels in New Zealand, the internet is not free in your room. There are free computers down the hall, but you have to pay to use the internet in the room which frankly doesn't make much sense. Otherwise, a great value for your money and probably the best hotel service I've ever seen.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Take a cab to the Auckland zoo to see the kiwis in the nocturnal kiwi house. Its the only one in Auckland and the best way to see the little creatures. Only $21 each way to get there by taxi and $22 for each adult for admission to one of the nicest zoos we've ever been to.

We have stayed at the Langham

We have stayed at the Langham in Auckland's CBD on many occasions and are yet to have a bad experience. The Langham has such a wonderful atmosphere and always a pleasure to stay at.

Staff extremely helpful and friendly.

Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Facitlities especially pool and spa area are top class. Courtesy bus to head into main shopping area very helpful especially as there were a couple of "older" travellers with me. Strongly recommend this hotel.

We love staying at the Langham,

We love staying at the Langham, the staff always remember you. Its a touch of luxury, a place to unwind. The restaurants are excellent, we just love it.

I really enjoyed my stay at The

I really enjoyed my stay at The Langham during a recent 2-day business visit to Auckland. All of the hotel facilities and services met or exceeded expectations for a luxury hotel: the room was comfortable, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the ambience was classy and elegant. I would highly recommend the Langham to anyone visiting Auckland.
