Promise more than delivered
The staff at the front desk promised a lot, the check out staff was no help. The front desk when I checked in, she told me that parking will be $10 a day. She also gave me two $10 complimentary casino certificates. Next day when I go to the casino and try to exchanged the certificates for the casino chip, the cashier said they don't have $10 chips they only have $25 chip. I told them that I'll give them money to make up the difference. They said NO. I have to have an account with them to do that. So I left the casino. When I checked out the next day the front desk told me that daily parking is $20. I told them that the front desk told me it was $10 when I checked in, she told me that she can't just take my word since it was not documented by the checked in person. I told them about the casino chip that was not honored by the casino. She toke my $20 casino certificates and reduced $20 for the parking. Overall front desk experience, very bad. Would not go back again.

Great Stay
I thought Skycity was a great place to stay in Auckland. It was very central and close to the Viaduct area. The hotel itself is a main attraction of the city as it hosts a great restaurant with great views and is the city's largest casino. The room was very accomadating with a small refrigerator and sofa. The staff were good and overall, I was very happy with me stay.

Great Location
Location was great. Casino on site and several restaurants. Requested a room with two beds, but they put us in a room with only one. Went to front desk and explained the issue so they moved us to another room. This room was a smoking room even though we requested non-smoking. Too tired to deal with it at that point so stayed in the smoking room. So overall it is a nice place and the staff was pleasant, but don't expect them to pay attention to the details.

Perfect place at the right price
Nothing bad to say about this place. The room was perfect and there is so much to do onsite. Got it for super cheap on here for a winter Sunday night. Would never pay full price for it since it's so expensive.

Wishing to be Kiwi
The central location of Skycity is key to enjoying Auckland o foot. The hotel rooms are a good size but they lack personality. It doesn't help that the view was rather uninspiring. I also strongly suggest you get out of the hotel for dining as the ones in the hotel just aren't that good. While this review may sound negative I am just pointing out the small issues in an otherwise wonderful stay. The staff was helpful and friendly and the room immaculately clean.

Very good locations. Besides being the centre of shopping and F&B, there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. There is also a bus terminal for long distance near by. It is recommended to stay for conveninece, but if stay a week or longer, apartment type hotel would be better as it provides kitchen and better price. Staff of the hotel were OK but lacks of explanation. For instance, a staff asked me to sign on a blank credit card. When told him that I already paid , he just asked me to sign again without explanation. There are some other similar occations, too.

Very unfriendly front desk staff
Very unfriendly front desk staff soured the experience right from the start. But the drilling and hammering outside the window at 6:30am really ruined the stay
