ibis Styles Auckland (previously all seasons)

I would feel this was an acceptable hotel in India but not in New Zealand. Rooms smelled, so-so for clean-only 1 elevator worked with 18 floors !! Rooms were tiny, only 1 pay phone you could use to call out -or come and use the front desk phone (room phones to receive calls only) . No one was in charge and to the staff it was oh well. On check out day got a call at 10 AM are you out yet- my res. stated 11 AM- oh they must be incorrect- we'll look into it !?

1. When I arrive, they gave me the key: the window in the room was broken, it was freezing in the room, so I had to ask them to give me another room, they did, but that room had no heater (these electric heaters are popular in New Zealand, and they have them in all the hotels). Since I had the keys to both rooms (in order to transfer my luggage), I took the heater from the first room and transferred it to the second room. 2. The rooms are so small, that even in Tokyo you get a bigger one. 3. They don't clean the room, unless you go to the reception and complain. 4. They don't even have a chair in the room. 5. The TV is so small, and the poicture is so bad. you cannot see it. 6. The bathroom is terrible. The shower does not have a separated space, water is flowing out to the floor, but the floor does not have the necessary slope to flow out into the kanalization tube, it stays in the bathroom all day, because, despite their promise they don't clean the bathroom all days. 7. Wi-Fi: $6 for half-an-hour! Go out to the neighboring 7-11, there it is $3 for one hour.

Carpets & elevator dirty. Room cleaned every 3 days. Halls dark grey & gloomy like interior of warehouse or factory. No division between shower and the rest of bathroom resulting in wet floor. Ask for space heater or extra blanket in winter. Hotel needs upgrade, paint job.

very small, but adequate. Had great views of the city. The elevator took forever each time you wanted to use it.

The room was pretty small, but it was what I expected. Bed very comfortable. The nightclub was relatively loud even on the 17 th floor. My only complaint was housekeeping had missed a pair of ladies underwear drying in the alcove where the washing machine should of been! Which lead me to wonder how well the room had been cleaned!

A pretty basic style of hotel and facilities, but matches the price expectation. Very centrally located. My concern when returning early in the evening was a line-up of housemaid trolley's virtually obstructing guest access/egress directly outside the lifts. This would be a real OHS/risk management issue if a fire alarm sounded and a whole floor of guests were to try and exit via the fire stairs.

The location of this hotel is great, middle of the city, beside Queenstreet. The hotel room is small but tidy, slightly noisy outside due to street cleaning. Better get higher floor to avoid noise. Good choice for the price.

Room & Facilities were good & comfortable for short stay of 1 night. Room could have been a lot cleaner e.g. dust build up on high shelving areas. Reception staff amiable. Would be nice if they gave out a flyer of near-by restaurants, happenings etc

in terms of value and low cost, it really doesn't get much better. plus, they have cheaper internet options compared to other hotels that try to gouge you.

was only in auckland for 2 nights. hotel was small, seemed like they added in a whole bunch of amenities to the room despite not having the space. the desk and tv were hard to use b/c of the lack of space. shower was nice though, i just opened up the curtain and used the whole bathroom as a shower, amazing, made to hotel worth it. no wireless internet in the rooms, expensive on the ground floor only. wired internet in the rooms like 12 or 15 bucks for 24 hours that is only counted when you logon. tried to do laundry there, expensive and the drier sucks. had to run it 3 times.
