Great location, very welcoming!
We had great service even before we checked in! We called for directions from outside the city, got very easy directions and found our way without difficulty. The gentleman who checked us in personally escorted us to our room. Like so many places in New Zealand we were offered a complimentary bottle of milk for our tea. I love this civilized country !!!! The room is literally across the street from the large city park and sports fields. It is a beautiful location and easy walking distance to Christchurch core and shopping. Can't wait to go back!!!

The Craic Pub is just down the street from Argyle and serves a great burger and beer. Reasonable prices, live music on the weekends.

Nice for family
My room has a kitchen with a microwave oven, stove/oven and cooking pots, plates, etc. It also has a public washer and drier. The facility is old, but it is clean. It is nice for a family.

A great place to stay. We were made to feel very welcome by the husband and wife team that operate the motel. We slept on what was without a doubt the best bed of our whole trip to NZ - a firm mattress just the way we like it. The decor is a little dated but the size of the room was generous and the kitchenette well equipped. A Shower can make or break a room for me and this shower was tops. Plenty of flow and easy to use mixer tap.

One night
Nice affordable and well equiped
We stayed overnight prior to our flight out of New Zealand. The room had all the conveniences of home. The owners were very nice and accommodating and provided a lot of information about the neighbouring area and knew about all the flight cancellations for airlines as there was an eruption in Chile at the time. We enjoyed the walking distance to the restaurants and bars and the proximity to the parks.

The owners were friendly, helpful
The owners were friendly, helpful and ever so accommodating. Offered us a late check-out which was most appreciated and did their best to allay our nervousness due to the earthquakes earlier that day. We could not fault the service.

A basic comfortable motel handy
A basic comfortable motel handy for the city.Rooms are spacious though a little dated and the bed and pillows not as comfortable as others on our NZ holiday but good self catering facilities.
