Good stay in Wellington.

Overall very good stay. Hotel conveniently located so most attractions within walking distance. Room comfortable and buffet breakfast good. Dining area was crowded at times with visiting coach parties and access to some lifts through dining area not ideal. Parking available at extra charge.

Average

Not too bad, not too good. The reservation included a breakfast which was good and the staff was very helpful. Otherwise, it was just an average hotel.

Simple Accommodations in the Center of Downtown

Location, location, location. I would easily stay there again, due to its very convenient location in the heart of downtown Wellington. Room and amenities average. Dining very nice, but a bit pricey for breakfast. But an elevator ride down from the lobby puts you in the middle of Lambton Quay, and three short blocks from the shoreline. Extremely convenient location, in the heart of downtown.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

The Museum of New Zealand, along the bay side, to the South-East, is nice. Good for children, too.

Novotel yes...but dated.

I primarily stay at the Novotel and Ibis hotels in New Zealand, with the Novotel being the higher end of the two. However, in Wellington, this Novotel is not a higher end standard. It is dated, and showing its age. The room was clean, the location good, and the service excellent. But, the furniture in the room was old, the bed not as great as other Novotels. The bathroom was bathtub/shower configuration which was definitely older fare. In this town, the Ibis was the same rate and the nicer of the two. For $150/night, I expected more, and would probably not stay here again.

***Plus - the hotel has an elevator that directly opens onto Lambton Quay. A very nice convenience.

Overpriced, poorly managed and dirty.

My wife and I stayed at Novotel Wellington for 2 days while on vacation in NZ. She's Korean and I'm American. Both bathroom towels were dirty and stained. The electric water heater (for making tea) was old and dirty. The hotel's complimentary umbrellas were tattered and leaked. Food in hotel restaurant is extremely overpriced. 5 Star hotel prices but cafeteria/food court quality. We found a hair in our breakfast.

We stayed for 3 nights, ideal

We stayed for 3 nights, ideal location. Great service especially when we entered the wrong code for our room safe - this was sorted in a matter of minutes. Breakfast average but as all buffet breakfasts seem to be, not very warm. Would stay again if in Wellington.

Required an extra night and booked

Required an extra night and booked this over the phone. We were offered the same rate as our 2 nights booked via HotelClub. Breakfast was abundant and special order of eggs was no trouble. Ice delivered to our room in minutes. View was great all be it interrupted by high rise office blocks. Access to must see attractions was good. Would stay there again. 10/10
