Stavanger Hotels - Cheap Hotels in Stavanger, Norway

I found the Stavanger Radisson good. Breakfast included was great. My only grumble is that I would like to see free internet in lobby. They have free wi-fi in rooms if you have your own computer.

The location was prefect. Very close to city center. Staff very friendly. Restaurant and bar was closed during the entire 8 night stay due to winter holidays. Single bed room was too crowded so had to ask for a Deluxe Single Bedroom. The bedroom was very dusty but bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed my stay overall. However, I wish I had been informed in advice about the restaurant and hoped the room was a bit cleaner.

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to work, and because it was rated by another site as the 'best business hotel' in Stavanger. I found my room to be clean and comfortable, and the location was a nice balance between the downtown and other parts of the city. The complimentary breakfast was nice, and is served until 10AM. But there were a few things that disappointed me: - There is no in-house restaurant for dinner. (It's possible to get a meal in the bar, but the menu is limited.) - The complimentary wireless Internet requres passwords from vouchers that expire every few hours. - The lights over the bathroom sink were out when I first arrived, and it took till the next day to get them working. (Shouldn't the staff have noticed this? The bathroom was quite dark, and shaving was near impossible.) - Calling down to the front desk often took 10-15 rings, if there was any answer at all.

I travel to Stavanger several times a year on business. I like this hotel for its convenience of parking and ease of getting there. The lobby is well maintained and inviting. There are two sections - the old lower section and the newer "high-rise" section. The older section has a tiny elevator making it difficult to get several people and luggage in it at the same time. Some of these older rooms face the multi-story garage - not a pleasant sight. All rooms are starting to show there wear and could use a face lift. Still I stay there because of some features I enjoy such as free and reliable WiFi internet access, easily available ice dispensers (not easy to find in Europe), and a great breakfast. The staff is wonderful.

Beautiful doubleroom! Make sure that you get the doubleroom with a balcony! Big and bright, had a very nice quiet stay there.

We were very pleasantly surprised to find that they had a buffet dinner included in our reservation. We also had a very roomy and comfortable balcony room, and all this at a real bargain price for Norway.

small boutique hotel. central location, but can be noisy at night. no aircon so leaving windows open is the only option but it lets in the street noise. bathroom was spotless but tiny. also tiny shower. breakfast is nice but no variety from day to day. wifi is free for guests but deadly slow. computer in lobby works okay. staff is helpful. i will probably choose another hotel next time.

The Rica Park in Stavanger has the polished look and feel of a high-standards business hotel. The rooms are very clean and feel like new, with all the in-room amenities one might expect (hair dryer, television, spacious bathroom, plenty of soaps). No special features set it apart, other than close proximity to the central train station. Breakfast is a disappointment relative to other hotels in Norway (including less expensive places), though they still do provide the basic Scandinavian breakfast fare (breads, cheeses, jams, meats, juice, eggs, and a limited variety of cereals). Internet service is available (for a fee?), but no computers are provided for guest access. Fees apply to all telephone use, including local and toll free calls. Our family of 4 stayed in a room with one king bed and one fold-out couch. The couch bed was smaller and less comfortable than some, but the room was quite spacious and had an ample closet. Staff at this hotel seemed inexperienced in many cases. There is weekday parking almost directly behind the hotel which is expensive during the day, but free overnight. The staff seemed to be completely unaware of this. They are also unaware of the pay phone a half block down the sidewalk from their main entrance.
