Wonderful hotel at the Plaza de Armas
Room 417 Wonderful accomodations with wall safe. Outdoor half patio open to air but had a glass window to Plaza below. Very clean, good buffet breakfast, close to most attractions, they connected us with a good tour to Canyon de Colca to see the condors which leaves at 3AM in morning....long day. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great location, high quality
After late-night bus ride from dingy quarters in Puno, was relieved and excited to arrive at Sonesta Posada Del Inca, Arequipa. The hotel staff were very friendly at the front desk, business center, front door and dining room; regardless of whether I spoke my marginal Spanish or my native English. Location is excellent. Other than the feature cathedral, it is the prime spot on the Plaza de Armas, the hub of this lovely city. Great way to start day was free breakfast (with omelette station) on 2nd floor dining balcony overlooking plaza. Also, check out rooftop pool, if only for view of cathedral towers set against surrounding volcanic mountains. Also loved the shower. Probably the best I found in Peru.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Dining, nightlife and shopping are all a short walk. To reach them, walk out of hotel and make a right. Streets behind the cathedral for restaurants and bars. For shopping, make a right at first corner on the plaza. There are stores along a street closed for pedestrians.
