Amazing Place!
I really do mean 5 stars. The staff ranging from the reception to the restaurant to housekeeping was exemplary. The reception desk was nice enough to accomodate our broken Spanish & was readily available when needed. There's always hot tea w/ condiments available. Dinner was free for one evening. The waittress provided friendly service. & the food was pretty good that we fell victim to ordering in a couple nights from them. Breakfast is vast & free every am. Vast in variety, ranging from eggs to cereal to cheese to fresh fruit to pastried, I can go on... Housekeeping was wonderful! The smallest things were tended to from folding socks on the floor to folding the cord to the curling iron! I also liked how the bedding was plenty warm. I was able to sleep in a large T-shirt despite the cold. The location was prime. In the middle of & w/in walking distance from major squares & great restaurants, I can't complain!! This may be more of a Peruvian thing than anything else as we experienced this in other hotels. Would be nice to have elevator access to upper levels. There were stairs only, although staff did bring large luggage upstairs for the first time, further transfer would have to be done alone unless you wanted to wait for help.

Good location, good value.
We needed a hotel as a refuge on each end of a hike to Machu Picchu. The service was great. The breakfast was good every morning. This hotel is only a few blocks from the main square. The rooms were fine for us but we are not fancy and do not require a lot of extras. The included welcome dinner was good. Loved the heated floors in the bathroom.

Short walk from hotel
Visit the markets. The markets are full of beautiful colors and if you like to barter you can get some good deals.

Cusco is a very nice safe city with great shops and restaurants. Take an all day tour to the Sacred Valley and you will see rural Peru just like it is shown in National Geographic. Take the city tour and see how ornate the Catholic cathedral is with all the gold and silver that the priests took from the Incas after killing them. I wasn't able to go to Macchu Picchu because of the damage to the rail lines. It should be all in order by April I was told.
