short stay in Lima
Hotel is located in the quietier neighbourhood of San Isidro. Easy to get to and close to a major avenue, although there are few amenities within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel is dated, although they have tried to paint up the old lady. I knew I wanted to stay in San Isidro and achieved that objective. I made my booking via the internet after reading the reviews, and after staying there thought it was reasonably expensive for what you get. My search will continue for a better hotel in that price range in San Isidro as I do not think I will go back

Boutiques are the best!
Stayed one night on arriving in Lima and was quite impressed. The staff was wonderfully helpful even though my gringoness caused an occasional language barrier. We ate dinner and breakfast in house which was great. It was open late and early with very good food and service. The room, restaurant, and grounds were really nice, didn't have a chance to jump in the pool but it looked great. Overall the Basadre suites were fantastic! LOVED the quiet neighborhood. near silence at night in a big city 20 minutes from a large international airport, fascinating.

Basadre Suites Hotel
It's not a large hotel but it is very nice with a friendly staff. It has a nice pool area, free wireless Internet, conveniently located, good food. For the price it is hard to beat in Lima and I have stayed in many of Lima's hotels. I would definitely stay there again.

Ripped off
Misled in Lima
We chose this hotel because it claimed to have an "airport shuttle." We just needed to stay one night between plane flights. When we got off the plane, we could not find a "shuttle." We called the hotel, but the number on [...] was wrong. Customer service at the airport got the right number and called for us. The hotel said that they would send someone over. They sent a TAXI, and he charged us full price for the ride, both that night and in the morning. It cost us about $45 extra. They do not have a shuttle of any kind. A taxi will, of course, take someone to any hotel. It was a total ripoff, since that was the only reason we booked this hotel. We were only in the room about eight hours and didn't eat there. It was poorly cleaned (trash on the floor) and the staff was rude.

Disappointed
First was given a room that had no hot water... (did not work?) and no heating, was relatively cold night, windows were open. Room smelled wet, and bed felt wed (humid day in Lima) then they were kind and proposed me another room, but pretty much the same situation. I decided to leave and got another room at the nearby Libertador. Staff was kind and understood... I did not get money back (this was through orbitz). I would not recommend the hotel if you look for at least a 3 star hotel. To me it is not over 1 or 2 stars and for that I consider it expensive.

Very nice hotel in San Isodro
Very nice hotel in San Isodro area of Lima. About 15 US dollars from the airport. Its a clean, safe and comfortable place. Ideal for the first night and within walking distance of Miraflores for cheaper hotels and hostels.
