Perfect Location, Perfect Service, Perfect Views

Took a short vacation to Faro Portugal for my husband's R&R vacation and we were very pleased with the hotel and mostly the service. The location was perfect, next to the Marina, our room had harbor views and a great balcony. The hotel is within walking distance of the city center, train station, bus station and all of it's sightseeing. Right outside the door there were a few restaurants and a restaurant at the roof top of the hotel. The pool was open but because we went in January it was too cold to go in the water.
We traveled with our 4 year old son and the hotel was very friendly to him as well.
The receptionist at the front desk assisted in booking us a day trip to Seville and told us how to use the train and bus. They also had a Taxi waiting for us at 4 am since we had an early flight.
We took the bus to Olhao and the train to Lagos. The bus station is less than a block away from the hotel and the train is within a 3-5 minute walk.
The only thing that I didn't like about the hotel was that the bed was way too firm.
The complimentary breakfast was outstanding and so was the dinner at the restaurant.
I highly recommend this hotel.
***There isn't too much to do in Faro so if you are going on vacation here I recommend that you consider taking the train to the near by places that offer more like Lagos or Albufeira.

The hotel is generally very good.
However, it is important to stress your basic needs, such as: patio. All rooms do not offer a patio, but will give one a much larger room instead. It really depends on your requirements.
Front desk was very patient, and helpful, even though we did seem to have a language barrier at first. It all worked out well.
I would stay here again, and recommend for others to do so too.
The pool is worth at least one nights stay!

Description
The Pousada de Estoi is set in the old 19th century Estoi Palace, which used to belong to the Viscount of Estoi, Jos Francisco da Silva. The palace took 20 years to build and in May 1909 a huge party was thrown in the gardens to celebrate the inauguration. After the Viscounts death, the palace remained in the family until 1987, at which time it was acquired by Faro Municipal Council. Besides the main building, the tea pavilions and Versailles-style gardens are still being renovated.The Palcio de Estoi is a new Pousada de Portugal since May'09, a project signed by Gonalo Byrne, a famous portugues architect.

Description
This family-run hotel is welcoming and enjoys a very good location. DDS 03/09. This is a typical Portuguese complex, very well refurbished. This hotel is ideally located in the city center of Faro, close to the marina. All shops, restaurants, bars and places of interest are within walking distance.

Nur 800 Meter vom Zentrum entfernt. Leider kein privat Parkplatz, aber nach 5 Uhr immer Gratis-Plätze entlang der Strasse vorhanden. Das Zimmer ist sehr klein aber sauber, nur das Bad müsste demnächst renoviert werden.Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.Preis-Leistung : OK

This is a very nice property, in a very quiet location. DDS 04/09 The exterior of this hotel is very well refurbished, it's a modern complex, big windows and terraces, space for car parking, and a nice outdoor swimming pool. Located in Montenegro, 2 km from the International Airport of Faro and 3 km from the city centre.

The hotel was modern,well-kept and reasonably priced.
The location was not it's strongest point,being a few miles from Faro town centre,although the Hotel does have a courtesy bus in operation.
Some enquiry is needed to ascertain it's running schedule,I had a car so this wasn't an issue for me personally.
The centre of Montenegro,the suburb in which the Monaco Hotel is situated, is only a few minutes walk,and although small has most amenities you could reasonably need,.....Banks,Pharmacy,supermarket,Cafes and bars etc.
The Hotel's only real failing was the menu,there only being snack options available.
This apart,and let's be honest it's hardly a huge flaw,the Hotel represented good value for money and I had a pleasant stay.
The staff were cheerful,helpful and courteous,the pool was clean and the grounds well-maintained.

Being a small family run property makes this residencial offer great ambience. Their friendly staff are really helpful and guest will experience the real fell of Faro.
Ideal for budget travellers.
DDS 01/09 Traditional looking building. Ideally located within a couple minutes walk to the marina, restaurant, shops and bars. Situated in the most popular areas of downtown Faro makes this guesthouse a ideal place. All historic places of interest within easy reach.
