There are many good restaurants close to the hotel with appetising local dishes such as Tuna Stake biff or "Espetada" which is a typical Madeiran grilled meat on a skewer. I really liked the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was spotlessly clean. My room, which was very comfortable, had a balcony with sliding shutters and a beautiful view of the park. The breakfast buffet was tasty. In addition to the quality of the hotel, the location in downtown Funchal was excellent. One could walk everywhere in the downtown area easily. There was easy access to most attractions such as museums, the old city, the market, the marina, and the cable car to Monte. There was also a nice view from the 5th floor where the swimming pool is located. I can't comment on the pool since I did not use it. It is a great hotel for people who want to be downtown rather than in the newer hotel area further away. Should I go back to Funchal, I would certainly stay there in the hotel again.

Description
Modern and comfortable, the first "All Inclusive" in Madeira, the 5 star Enotel Lido Resort Conference & Spa Hotel, is located in the main tourist area, above the ocean with direct access to the ocean front promenade and just 5 minutes from the centre of Funchal.
There are 317 comfortable rooms available, including balcony with a ocean view, air conditioning, cable TV, Pay TV, hairdryer, mini bar, separate bath and shower, Room Service, coffee and tea making facilities, bathrobes, telephone with direct outside line and voicemail facility and there are also 47 Suites with a Jacuzzi and a wonderful frontal sea view. The hotel has wheelchair access to all areas with especially adapted rooms available for those in wheelchairs.
Three unique thematic restaurants, means there is no real need to leave the hotel for anything - the cuisine of each one is delicious and the perfect opportunity to try the local dishes, Italian cuisine or Japanese food. The main restaurant "Atlntico", offers a wonderful and a variety buffet service.
Enotel Lido has 3 swimming pools; one indoor heated pool and two outdoors, one separated for children.

gut gelegenes Hotel; ansprechende saubere Zimmer; sehr gute Betten.
Einziger Negativpunkt: durch die zahlreichen Pauschaltouristen macht das Restaurant (auch Frühstück) eher den Eindruck eines Speisesaales mit hektischem Personal. Daher würde ich dem Hotel eher 4 als 5 Sterne geben.

We stayed here by accident, we thought we had booked the(other hotel)which is far superior - but still had a fun time!

Everything was at its place... The staff was very welcoming and useful. If you are in need of booking trips to porto santo or going on excursions there will take care of it all... The deco is fantastic, when we first arrive we literally thought it was a joke. We were very surprised.
If I were to change something, I would just add some light... I found the place a bit too dark... Then I would spice up the breakfast..

Einzige Kritik: Vorsicht, "Seaview" sieht das Personal auch dann als gegeben an, wenn man auf der (lauten) Straßenseite nur seitlichen Meerblick hat! Nach meiner Reklamation erhielten wir aber am zweiten Tag ein sehr schönes Zimmer mit vollem Meerblick im obersten Stockwerk. Die Rezeption ist manchmal nur mit einer Person besetzt, was beim Auschecken am Samstag morgen (!) zu langen Wartezeiten und erheblichem Unmut der anstehenden Gäste geführt hat. Das Rezeptionspersonal ist überwiegend freundlich, erscheint manchmal aber etwas überfordert.
Am negativsten: Meine Anzahlung bei RatesToGo wurde auf bei der ersten Rechnungsstellung nicht anerkannt. Ich musste trotz erneuter Vorlage des RatesToGo- Bestätigungsvouchers länger diskutieren! Der Rezeptionist hat Zahlungsvorgang und Voucher nicht verstanden.
Trotzdem mein Gesamturteil auch nach dem zweiten Aufenthalt: ein Wohlfühlhotel par excellence zu angemessenen Preisen! Nur zu empfehlen. Der Gartenpark ein Gedicht! Gerne wieder!

Endast 8 m horisontellt och 10m vertikalt från Atlantvågorna verkade det oavbrutna dyningsbruset som balsamin på kroppen. Vi sov med balkongdörren delvis öppen för utnyttja det lugnande vågbruset. Gott om affärer och restauranger i närheten av hotellet, vars läge också lockade till många promenader till Funchals centrum. Bra pool i anslutning till stranden. Badstegar som tillät bad direkt i Antlantböljorna när grön flagga var hissad.

Fabulous hotel

Aivan loistava hotelli! Kauniit uima-allasalueet ja aivan upea puutarha! Huoneistot laadukkaat: minikeittiö ja kylpyamme. Meille sattui vielä maantasalla oleva huoneisto, jonka terassilta suora näkymä uima-altaille. Hotellissa myös saunat ja sisäaltaat/porealtaat. Hotelli samassa huoneistohotelli Pestana Villagen kanssa, joten käytössä myös Villagen palvelut ja uima-altaat. Aamupala oli loistava! Paljon hedelmiä ja kerran viikossa "shampanja-aamiainen" ;) Lähempänä myös Funchalin keskustaa ja puistoalueita kuin suurin osa hotelleista, eli kävelymatkan päässä. Suosittelen!

Superbe hôtel avec une vue sur l'océan magnifique.
Très bon accueil dès notre arrivée et pendant tout le séjour. Personnel très aimable.
Petit déjeuner copieux et apprécié en terrasse le jour de NOEL
Nous retournerons dès que possible.

Description
The Madeira Regency Cliff is a trendy 4-star hotel in a superb cliff-top location with splendid views over the ocean and the coastal strip of the popular Lido area. We enjoyed the cocktail reception with the manager. The folk dancing and singing was interesting but needed a different venue since the lobby was too small to accommodate the group and spectators.

Description
The Hotel Buganvilia welcomes you to a relaxing stay in Madeira. A comfortable 3 star hotel with friendly service, its excellent location just a few meters away from the excellent Lido sea pools, cafes and bars can make for a very pleasant stay where everything you need is just a short walk away. Pleasantly decorated and refurbished a short while ago, the Buganvilia has a familiar atmosphere together with the convenience of a central location and excellent and varied facilities.
