fantastic, only fault pool didn't open until april, it was march and nearly 30c. staff were very friendly and helpful, would stay again. food in restaurant was perfect, breakfast and evening meal. a lovely hotel. free wi fi. lots of super bock.

I went to the palace of Sintra on a day out, I thought the palaces of Versailles was really good, but Sintra is something else, we also visited Fatima & Nazare, lovely day, but you would want a full day in Sintra.
The river cruise on the Tagus is very nice.
Overall great trip.

The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood. Convenient to visit places,transportation was easily available. Hotel is clean and comfortable.
We saw a lot of attractions and utilized the short time available. We could
have used free wifi.

Superb staff makes this hotel

As described, the Altis Avenida is a 5* boutique hotel, in the center of downtown Lisbon. Wife and I stayed here 2 nights and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. Incredibly friendly and helpful arranging dinners and Fado.
Hotel is super modern in decor. Beds are very comfortable. Gorgeous bathrooms. They even do a turn-down service with pastries!
Only thing is that it is in the middle of the touristy area of Lisbon, which could be good or bad, depending on what you are looking for. Would probably stay in Alfama next time.
Definitely have drinks, dinner or breakfast on the roof, its an amazing outdoor balcony.

This is only the second review I've ever been wiling to take the time to do. The other one I did was because I was not at all happy. This is being written for the exact opposite reasons. I'm not a huge traveler but I do prefer decent hotels i.e. very clean, attentive friendly staffs, convenient location, carpets and bedding I'm not afraid to walk on or sleep in, etc. The Altis Avenida exceeded my expectations and must be considered one of the best bets in Lisbon. It is located in one of the nicest and most convenient parts of the city, is only two years old (having taken an existing building and completely gutting it), has a restaurant with great views of the city, and its staff appears to be a very well trained team always eager to be of service in any way possible and always smiling. They all speak several languages (English was a biggie for me) and most Portuguese citizens speak English as well making it a very comfortable place for me to visit.
The Metro is so easy to use even I was able to get around easily. If considering tours, check out Grey Line tours as we had very good experiences with them here.
I would easily return again and would not think twice about where I would stay

we arrived for 5 nights we thought we had died and gone to heaven, the staff, food, room were 6 star if possible. Just loved the hotel we travel all over the world and this was the best 5 star hotel we have ever stayed in.we will be back to stay again.

Cloisons minces donc on entend ses voisins.

Wir waren 6 Nächte im Hotel, welches optisch einen angenehmen und durchgestylten Eindruck macht. Leider wird bei der Funktionalität im Fontana-Room gespart.
Es gibt für 2 Personen einen einzigen Haken im Bad. Toilettenpapier steht auf der Bürste, eine separate Halterung fehlt.
Der Umgang mit Wasser ist auf Grund der Armaturen recht unökologisch. Wenn man sich mit warmen Wasser etwas die Hände waschen will muß man den Hahn immer voll aufdrehen, da erst dann warmes Wasser kommt.
Im Zimmer muß man eine Ablage fast ganz räumen, um den kleinen Wäscheschrank zu öffnen. Die zweite Ablage ist ein Schreibtisch, bereits mit einer Lampe und Telefon versehen. Es gibt keine weiteren Ablageflächen oder Schübe bzw. Haken.
Alles in allem machte das Zimmer einen schon recht abgewohnten Eindruck, obwohl erst 4 Jahre offen.
Am Besten reist man nur mit Kreditkarte und Zahnbürste, dann reicht der Platz. Für längere Aufenthalte leider nicht geeignet.

Très bien mis à part l'isolation phonique

Très bon hôtel, bien placé (15 minutes à pied du quartier de Baixa), personnel très accueillant qui parle français pour la plupart, et qui nous a fourni de bons renseignements à chacune de nos requêtes.
La chambre n'était pas très grande, mais contenait tout ce qu'on peut souhaiter (nombreux éclairages, coffre-fort à code, baignoire dans la salle de bain, ...)
Un seul problème à signaler: la chambre donnait côté cours, au 2e étage, et tous les matins à 6h30, une énorme soufflerie se met en route (sans doute celle des cuisines).
Pas vraiment agréable en vacances... Ceci explique pourquoi je donne une note moyenne au confort de la chambre.
Mais si je devais retourner à Lisbonne, je n'hésiterais pas à aller dans cet hôtel.

tout s'est bien passé,personnel aimable,l'hotel est tres proche de la place du Marquis de pompal donc un peu loin a pied du quartier animé de la ville basse .

Hotel calme avec un peu de bruit venant de l'exterieur lié a la circulation de l'Avenue principale de la Liberté. Attention les ambulances adorent faire marcher leur sirene type américaine quelque soit l'heure du jour et de la nuit.
Pour le cout du Taxi depuis l'aeroport compter 15euros

there was a problem with a free wi-fi, otherwise it was a wonderful place to stay. breakfast was great, it was quite far from dontown but was at the first stop for hop-on hop- off busses. by the way, do not get tickets for lisbon sightseeing bus, get portugal sightseeing or yellow bus. a very clean hotel.

Hotellihuoneemme oli oikein viihtyisä, sängyt loistavat ja kylpyhuone oli suuri (kahden naisen kauneustuotteet mahtuivat hyvin sinne). Vessassa alkoi soida rauhoittava musiikki heti kun sinne meni. Ilmastointi ja radio toimivat seinänäytöltä. Henkikökunta oli palvelualtista. Internetiä saimme käyttää ilmaiseksikin aulassa, vaikka siitä olisi hinnaston mukaan mennyt maksukin. Aamupala oli runsas ja sisältyi matkamme hintaan. Hotellilta oli kyllä pidempi matka keskustaan, kuin tuo ilmoitettu 700 metriä. Ja me mielsimme shoppailu-, ja ravintola-alueet keskustaksi. NIce hotel, good location

We booked 5 nights 10th Feb to 15th Feb 12; hotel is in a good location not far from airport or city centre. We were on the 9th floor our room was quite large and furnished appropriately and clear. Bathroom was large and very clean too.
Hotel staff were helpful and front desk staff speak English, so don’t be afraid to ask.
Room for improvement:
Food – in my opinion poor choice/quality, we paid 12 Euros each for Lasagne, which to our disappointment was microwaved, flat to the plate!! Salad or chips (fries) not included.
Breakfast was repetitive, but acceptable, bread, cakes, cheese, ham. The scramble eggs, hot dogs and bacon, was always cold, I did mention this, but to no avail.
Tea/Coffee making - only tea in room, they do not provide milk. I would suggest buying your own Tea Coffee, Milk, supermarket 2 minutes walk from hotel and reasonably priced.
TV - BBC world only English channel with a bad reception.
Free wifi in hotel, but they will charge you to use their Computer/Business centre, which is extremely slow so costs.
In spite of this, overall we had a good stay. :-)

Angenehmes Hotel, gute Anbindung in die Stadt (10 min mit dem Bus), ausgiebiges Frühstück, würde jederzeit wieder in diesem Hotel übernachten

Cet hotel 4* est de bonne qualité. La piscine située dans un parc et la salle fitness sont partagées avec le 5* à tenant. L'hotel est a 50m du métro et 15mn à pieds du centre. Le personnel est à l'écoute et les petits déjeuners trés copieux.
Bon point de départ pour votre séjour...

Great hotel for the centre of Lisbon and nicely set back off the main road. Best in summer when the pool is just a lovely place to be. Bar was being refitted during my stay, which is a shame for me, but I'm sure it will be better than before for the coming season. Food is generally good, although the restaurant which is attached to the hotel attracts fashionable non residents, but sadly sometimes the food does not live up to the price tag.
Would recommend and probably go back.

Es ist ein ausgezeichnetes Hotel. Wir hatten ein sehr schönes, ruhiges und grosses Zimmer mit Küche. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Der Frühstückspreis mit € 10.50 pro Person finden wir übertrieben gemessen am Buffet. Alles andere war aber sehr gut.

Very nice personnel and Hotel. I was very satisfied with service. Suits are very gut equipped and very clean. About 10 min to the center of Lisbon. If I visit again Lisbon, I will always book Clarion Hotel.

I chose this hotel because I thought it would be nicer than a budget hotel, like Ibis. However, there was not much difference. The best feature was that the Internet was included. When I entered the room: (1) long diagonal crack on the window, (2) desk chair with wobbly leg that seemed ready to collapse, (3) weak air conditioning. The reported the first two because I didn't want to be blamed for damage. I reported the air conditioning problem. On full blast, virtually no air came out of the vent and the air was just above room temperature. The desk clerk said he would have it repaired (he did not want to change our rooms even though the hotel did not seem very busy). The next day I asked the same desk clerk who did not report the problem. He came to my room, put his hand next to the vent and said that my air conditioning was normal. He said the hotel had weak air conditioning. They have a minibar policy that guests should be cautioned about. You can only get coffee if you go into the restaurant. Bed was worn and needed to be replaced.
This hotel is not close to the airport and not close to city center. Poor location.

L'hotel est vraiment très bien avec une superbe vue sur toute la ville! Hotel un peu décentré mais à 500m de la place Marques Pombal (avec la station des fameux bus touristiques). Un service impeccable comme par exemple en surprise, un gateau d'anniversaire avec crémant à notre retour dans la chambre! Le point négatif serait le prix un peu excessif du petit déjeuner. Mais si vous préférez, un joli centre commercial juste en face vous permet de déjeuner moins cher.

Made to feel welcome as soon as I arrived at the hotel. Staff very friendly and welcoming, dealt with any needs immediately. Accidentally broke the curtain rail in my room but was efficiently fixed by staff without charge. Would definitely book the hotel again. The only downside is the location being on top of a hill from the city centre so make sure you wear study footwear!

The hotel is very good. The Shearton in Porto is better. Better probably because it is newer. This one is nice. Pleasant personnel always with a smile and ready to assist you. Some of the pleasantries of life (wifi) are really expensive in this hotel and should really be supplied without cost to the visitors. However, I probably would stay there again if I go to Lisbon for another holiday. Really convinient location to the subway, bus and taxi transportation. Easy walk to the the port and the old section of town. Harder to go back to the hotel as it is all uphill.

Good except for the check in process

This was a nice hotel that was undergoing some renovations, so minus the renovations my only comment is that the check in process seemed very unorganized. Some guests were able to check in right away while others were told they would need to wait hours. The lobby is very small, so this obviously caused some issues.

Overall; I would use this again.
I would have given this a "perfect review" except that
there was a problem with the television. I got a quick response but the attempt to rectify the problem took
over 2 hours with the service staff in and out of the room. I had just arrived and needed sleep. I would have preferred that a different room be offered to me rather than compromise my initial comfort. I did not
however; express this to the staff so I have to cut them some slack on this. But,,they need to remember this with other guests in the future.
Otherwise,,,,had great time and would stay again.

I stayed in two hotels in Lisbon. This was the second. It is a very good classic business type hotel. I had fantastic views from the 12th floor over all of Lisbon. Convenient location and great staff. My first hotel was more boutique and in the historical part. This is not in the historical part. Subway is close by though I walked everywhere. lisbon is a wonderful city! The department store El cortes Ingles is relatively close by and has everything in it including an enormous movie theater complex (all movies in English).
