Do Chiado Hotel Lisbon

Perfect location! Chiado is the "hip" section of old Lisbon. This hotel is right around the corner from a big shopping plaza with Starbucks and many informal restaurants...and the Metro just steps away as are many monuments and historical sites and lots of upscale shops and restaurants. We had the "superior" room with a little patio through french doors. Wonderful to sleep (safely) with the doors open at night. I found ALL the personnel very friendly, English-speaking and ready to help us. The morning breakfasts are great and we'd even get cappuchinos just for the asking. The manager, Celia Loureiro, was the best. She sat down and personally mapped out a walking trip for our visit to Porto. Absolutely NONE of the complaints I've read applied to this hotel. Guess we live in parallel realities.

We loved our stay at Do Chiado Hotel Lisbon. Took the very reasonable metro from the Lisboa Airport to Chiado. The hotel is around the corner from the metro stop. Very convenient after a long journey. We arrived 5 hours before check in time. The hotel staff was very accommodating. They held our bags, directed us to indoor facilities, and offered advice as we spent those hours walking around Lisboa. A Hotel location could not get any better than this one. In the heart of beverything. It is an older hotel, but very clean and comfortable. An added bonus is their outdoor terrace on the top with spectacular city views. Would

Overall we enjoyed our stay here. The reception staff were very good and the brakfast service was also good. The only disappointment was the bar staff in the upstairs bar. They were inattentive and too busy chatting to each other rather than looking after guests.

Paris has the Eiffel Tower and Lisbon has the Santa Justa … a viewing platform where people visit and pay for the views, it adjoins the hotel and shares the same fantastic panorama; the hotel overlooks Sao Jorge Castle with wonderful views to the sea. Many rooms, the dining areas and bars share this view, and with the most amazing terrace overlooking the castle, taking a coffee in the open air with such a vista is a pleasure not to miss. All the magic that Lisbon has to offer is literally on the doorstep; the waterfront, the Fado bars and of course the large pedestrianised centre, renown not just for its superb architecture but also a fantastic shopping location containing the most exclusive shops and restaurants. Hotel Do Chiado is situated in Lisbon Old Town, one of the most picturesque areas of the city. The hotel is close to the Elevador de Santa Justa, a vertical lift and viewing platform, and the Triumphal Arch from Praca do Comercio to Rua Agusta. Ask for one of the rooftop rooms, and you'll have access to your own private roof terrace with views down to the mirandering streets below, the hillside opposite, and the sea port beyond. If you're looking for a place to stay where you can take in the sights of Lisbon from your bedroom, then this is it.

Staff are very helpful, rooms are large and the bar terrace has an amazing view.

Lovely small hotel in the heart of Lisbon. Staff very friendly and helpful. The star attraction is the roof terrace with panaromic views over Lisbon.

a great hotel. wonderful location and views of the castle hill. easy walking distance from the centre. a well lit upper level breakfast room, with a tremendous breakfast. hotel feels fresh

Lisbon is a pretty gritty city. I wish I had spent a few days at the coastal towns, e.g. Caix Caiax or Estorial, and visited Lisbon for a day tour instead of the other way around.

The helpful and effecient service provided by all the staff in this lovely hotel helped make our stay in Lisbon very special.
