Gorgeous place to stay
It is truly like being in a botanical garden, overlooking the ocean. The rooms are very nice, with lots of space. The only drawback is the lack of air conditioning.

Nice location for the price
"Quinta Splendida Wellness Botanical Garden" is a good choice if you look for a nice location (the garden around is just splendid!) and want to save some money on meals(can prepear them yourself in rooms equipped with kichenettes).

Good for "room only"
We spent eight days at this resort with room only. Tried the breakfast at the hotel once, and it was perfectly ok, but not worth €35 for the two of us. There are a few great places to eat in the village with interesting dinner menus, and which give better value for money. The hotel location means you need a shuttle bus to get to Funchal, another overprices service at €12 when we asked. Luckily we had our own rented car which only cost €2 per day to park (very crowded car park, but they found us a place every day.) The room was spacious and equipped with a small kitchen for simple cooking. The TV had a few channels in English, including Sky News and BBC World. BBC1 was on the list but did not work. The garden and the view were outstanding and the room was well cleaned.

Superb establishment with very
Superb establishment with very professional helpful staff. The room was excellent and the gardens beautiful. Convenient central location with free transport to Funchal. Highly recommended, would definitely return.

excellent accueil et tres beau logement calme, service conforme a notre demande : nous étions dans un jardin botanique extraordinaire et le cadre est très beau, repas et petit dèj copieux et variés en buffet, à conseiller
