BEST WESTERN Vega Hotel & Convention Center

This hotel is part of a four-hotel buildings complex that has been built for the international guests of the Moscow 1980 Olympics. Hence the planning is soviet-style - cramped rooms, although not as in Paris:). This specific building has been completely renovated and is now Best Western. Overall a good value, although if you mind getting around by metro, the traffic in this part of Moscow is heavy (easily 45-60 mins to Kremlin on a weekday), so plan accordingly. The scene outside is glum, except for the Ismailovskiy Park adjacent to the hotel. In reality a blue-collar neighborhood. I have stayed only in First Class Queen Bed room (OK) and in First Class Suite (1BR), so don't know what the econ rooms are like. The 1BR suite is really a nice option, nothing matching in Moscow in terms of value. But I hate metro, so the commute in traffic kills the fun for me and I am not likely to stay here again. There is a 24hr room service and restaurant downstairs, and the whole 4-building complex hosting over 1,000 rooms in total, there is plenty of 24h convenience mini markets, cafes, etc. Some working girls always in the lobby, although 3s and 4s at best. But on a weekend there is an amazing flea market in Ismailovskiy Park, worth a visit, and overall for tourist class, I would think this is one of the best options, as metro is super efficient and scenic!

Stayed NY holidays. Great hotel, great service. However, to book the health Spa was €100 per hour and no swimming pool in hotel or neighbouring hotels as advertised. But overall, a relaxing, pleasent and value for money location!
