Savoy Hotel Moscow

We travelled as a couple and the hotel was just perfect. It is located in the centre of Moscow within minutes by foot from most of the places to be visited. A metro station was just across the street, which came handy as the weather was mostly really bad (rain mixed with snow, which of course is quite normal at the end of october). More specifically, I would like to highlight the kindness and efficiency of the staff already during the preparation of the trip. I received answers to my emails within a day, for instance when I asked for the documents needed for the tourist visa.

The Savoy is located near the center of Moscow. Red Square, Kremlin, and the bolshoi are all a short walk away. This area is very pricey but I got a great deal through .... (Traveling on the weekend in early December greatly helped the price point.) The breakfast was very robust and tasty! You are also a short walk to 2 Metro stops.

Having been to Moscow 10 times for tourism, this was a first time stay at Savoy since my previous favorite lodging's rates have skyrocketed recently. Location is centrally convenient, 2 minutes on foot to the metro, 6 minutes to the Bolshoi Theater, and 8 minutes to Red Square, Gum Shopping Mall, Okhotny Ryad Shopping Center, and to the fashionable Tverskaya street. Rooms are small, lack closet space,and are undecorated with bare walls. Outside the rooms are small sitting areas where a late night internet user may flee comfortably while his family members snooze. The indoor swimming pool was nice but the adjacent shower lacked the amenities of other first class hotels.Staff is very helpful and accomodating. Inclusive breakfast was tasty and filling and served in an elegant dining hall.Overall this stay was positive despite the high tariff which which typifies all premium hotels in the Russian capitol. Yes I would re-book The Savoy.

This was a midterm term break with a group of friends. Fabulous hotel but poor service and cold breakfast. I found the staff at reception rude and very unhelpful. I asked about nearby restaurants and the receptionist replied "As I recall telling you yesterday..." I wasnt told about any restaurants and didnt bother looking for anymore advice. The breakfast was cold on the first morning so we decided to go earlier the following morning and it was still cold. My final fault was we booked tickets to the Swan Lake ballet with Concerige. They charged us 2000 rubles but booked the wrong tickets (to a russian drama). When they went to get the correct tickets the ballet was booked out. We were pretty disappointed but called to the theatre while out on a walk and got excellent tickets to Swan Lake for 500 rubles...!! This hotel is in a perfect location and is beautifully decorated. Shame about the staff.

Hôtel très proche de la place rouge et du centre historique : pas besoin de prendre le métro bondé. Chambre très confortable (chambre préparée pour la nuit). Personnel très avenant. Le wi-fi marche superbement bien, sans aucun problème. La piscine est magnifique (environ 15 m de long) : c'est une vraie piscine. En plus, il y a un sauna. La salle de sport est extraordinaire aussi. Seul bémol : le buffet du petit déjeuner qui est un peu quelconque même si la salle dans lequel il est servi est magnifique. Bref, hôtel à recommander sans hésiter.
