Well deserved break
This was probably the best all inclusive vacation we have taken, the staff are excellent from housekeeping, to food service and bar service. The entire facility is well maintained. Will probably be returning next year.

Great Vacation!!!!
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Coconut Bay Resort and Spa from 10/29/2011-11/04/2011. The room was a nice size -- needs to be updated (especially the bathrooms) but very clean; the food was delicious -- there was a different theme every night; the staff was very friendly and accommodating; the grounds were breath taking; the beach was fantastic -- had a lot of seaweed but the resort did a great job in raking the seaweed; the temperature of the ocean was like bath water -- totally gorgeous; the mountains were very green and lush; every evening, there was always live entertainment; the water slide and lazy river were a lot of fun; the drinks were great (loved the Dirty Banana); and there was never a shortage of beach chairs. I cannot say enough about this resort. I will definitely go back. Beautiful resort, beautiful people, great time!!

We heard that cabs were expensive so we booked a tour through the resort in order to go shopping. The market was 1 hour away from the resort by car. The 1 lane each way road was made up of turns and more turns -- talk about motion sickness. I was glad I was not driving. The tour guide took us to the market which had tons of stuff at great prices.

Great getaway!
We only spent 3 days at Coconut Bay but it was still well worth the trip. Although the hotel could use an update it's a great place. It's spacious and feels safe. It's perfect for families but we appreciated the adult section (quiet with no kids). Staff is nice and very helpful. Fatta and the other bartenders will make you tasty drinks all day long. As for the food, breakfast and lunch is your standard buffet. In the evenings I'd recommend the restaurant Calabash, tasty food that's presented nicely. The asian restaurant Silks was a bit of a disappointment after hearing people recommend it. The food was very salty and mediocre in general. I've had much better takeout asian food here in New York. Overall it was a very relaxing trip. St Lucia is beautiful (make sure you do an excursion) and Coconut Bay is a great place to stay at. We are likely to go back for another visit.

Disappointing!
Unable to use the beach because it was covered with seaweed. The hotel room had some undesirable looking furniture. On a positive note, the staff, entertainment and food were ok.

Coconut Bay
The trip's purpose was for total rest and relaxation. It was a total success. The rooms were good, food was good and the hotel staff were all great! This was actually my second time going there. Only issue and it's not the hotel's fault is the lack of beach, but it wasn't that important for us.

St. Lucia Visit
The service at this hotel was fantastic. The staff was excellent, accommodating and well verse in the island sights. The room had a garden view with the ocean in the background. We could walk out the patio to the pool. It could have used additional reading lighting The room was clean and well taken care of. The food on the other hand was atrocious. Mediocre at best. It did not include items that were native to the country. We had no seafood to speak of and the buffet was very "American". We did not go to St. Lucia to have a western barbecue. We did eat lunch in Castries once, it was very very expensive. The hotel location is somewhat isolated but very convenient to the airport. Again the staff was excellent, the facilities were great and the views from the property were terrific--camera perfect. If you do not have children, we would not recommend staying here as even though there is a separate area for adults, dinner is overrun by children.

Fell in Love with St. Lucia
When we arrived at the lobby of Coconut Bay Resort we were met with a chilled glass of wine and a very welcome cold cloth. We have been to many Caribbean resorts but nowhere have we been met with such sincerely and genuinely friendly helpful staff. Yes, there were children but the resort is set up so adults have their own space. Regardless of the set up though there was not one moment that we were disturbed by the children that were there. The amenities for families are great and varied. We would certainly recommend Coconut Bay Resort for both couples or families as the property is well organized to accomodate both. The food was good at all four (buffet, beach grill, Asian & Italian) food service locations within the resort. The proximity to Hewanorra airport was never an issue (for noise) and was instead a blessing after a 6+ hour flight. The beach was very nice and we enjoyed swimming in the Atlantic - it was very warm and usually quite calm. Again, we want to stress the sincerity of the staff. We felt like they truly meant it when they said good morning or asked if there was anything we needed. For us that was the biggest bonus of all. I do hope that you will consider Coconut Bay Resort when you travel to the amazingly beautiful island of St. Lucia.

If you are in St. Lucia do not miss having lunch at Dasheene in the Ladera Resort which is perfectly located between the two Pitons and then enjoy a mud bath at the nearby drive-in volcano.

"Unbeatable amenities, food, price"
Great value for a three star resort and only 2-3min from the airport. Everything was excellent including: easy airport shuttle food was great, drinks were excellent ([...] make the best Dirty Bananas ask for it "with Chairman's Reserve" rum). Our room was cleaned everyday and always given fresh towels and amenities. It is located on Atlantic side so some seaweed on beaches, but they try to rake it away daily and it didnt bother us one bit, we walked the beach one or more times every day. Beautiful sunrises in a.m. and breathtaking Moonrises too. Don't miss Caribbean Night on saturday night!
