Best Singapore Location
From the friendly doorman, to the helpful receptionists, this is a GREAT place to stay in central Singapore. It's right across the street from the Raffles Hotel, and 2 blocks from Suntec Center and it adjoins the 70 story Equinox restaurant. The sumptious breakfast buffet is well worth the money and the rooms are sparkling clean. Like anywhere, you get what you pay for, and this hotel is a great example of that truism. There are NO negatives!

Dinner at the Equinox, 70 floors above the city, was an incomparable experience and one not to be missed. Like anything posh however, just be sure your credit card can withstand a significant hit!

Lost in Translation
Trying hard, but must try harder!
We stayed here twice in 2 weeks in Feb. The hotel appears to have had no upgrading or refurbishing since being taken over by Fairmont and my last stay about 8 years ago. It is definitely NOT like The Savoy London which is part of the same group, but they appear to be bringing in experienced staff from elsewhere in the world to try and improve things. The first week we were disappointed with our room which was shabby and had a shower which did not function properly. However, knowing we were coming back the following week, they took note and did much better by us the second time around. However, ladies note that there was no dressing table/vanity mirror, in the room which was more orientated to (male) business travellers. Also, daily internet access at S$28 plus tax and service is unreasonable these days. The hotel is well located for those on business and tourists who want to be able to dash around. There is an excellent spa and range of restaurants. Some of the staff were excellent, taking trouble to provide service, while others need more training to bring them up to expected standards. One little tip: if you have a late flight but can't get a late enough check-out, the Fairmont has a hospitality suite for guests to use on the 6th floor. This is just along from the spa, allowing you to take advantage of shower facilities etc, quite necessary in Singapore's heat.

Good location hotel
Good location within easy reach of all the touristy sites via the excellent MRT station situated adjacent to hotel, coupled with the bus network. Breakfast buffet at the Prega is one of the best I have come across for variety and food selection. Friendly helpful staff throughouit the hotel. Deluxe room was spacious with good faciliites and comfortable beds. Wi-Fi reception good but expensive. Excellent views from the cocktail lounge on the 70th floor in the Stamford - part of the same complex with Raffles City shopping and entertainment below the hotels. Cocktails in the Stamford better than the Raffles Hotel opposite but you have to go there don't you and dont forget to sweep the peanut shells off the table before you leave!

Great Find
This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. All our requests were met, the Fairmont staff exceeded our expectations, we joined the Fairmont members club prior to our visit and we were given a fantastic room. We were on a room only rate, but would definately shop around for a bed and breakfast rate in the future.
