Raffles Hotel Singapore, the legendary symbol for all "the fables of the Exotic East" is a travelers paradise with 103 Suites, 18 distinctive restaurants and bars and an illustrious history dating back to the 19th century. Patronized by nobility and royalty for over a century, Raffles Hotel Singapore is more legend than hotel, and is one of the most memorable experience travel can offer in today's world. Declared a National Monument in 1987, the hotel has grown from strength to strength. With its restoration and reopening in 1991, Raffles Hotel Singapore today stands as a jewel in the crown of Singapore's hospitality industry, renowned and loved for its inimitable style and unsurpassed excellence in service and facilities. In multicultural Singapore it is not surprising that the visionary founders of Raffles Hotel Singapore were a quartet of enterprising Armenian brothers: Martin, Tigran, Aviet and Arshak Sarkies. Raffles Hotel Singapore opened in 1887 in a rather sombre-looking old bungalow known as the Beach House. It was named after Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore. Tropical suites and sola topis were as much a part of Raffles Hotel's early style as bentwood tables and rattan chairs. Over the years the hotel has evolved into one of the world's most beloved grand hotels and welcomed innumerable celebrities, writers and royalty. Raffles Hotel is Singapore's most graceful landmark with a total of 103 suites. The charms include a shopping arcade, a museum, romantic courtyards and a Victorian-style theatre, Jubilee Hall, a popular venue for film screenings and performances. Amenities are Airport transfer, Dry cleaning, Room service, Baby sitting service, Room service 24 hrs, Ballroom, Gift shop, Safe deposit box, Banquet facilities, Secretarial services, Bar, Gym / Fitness facilities, Internet access High-Speed, Spa Services (Massage, Facial, Steam Room, etc.), Internet access Wireless, Laundry service, Lift / Elevator, Swimming pool outdoor, Business center, Lobby, Non-smoking rooms, Concierge, Parking facilities, Conference facilities, Currency exchange, Disabled facilities, Reception, Doctor on call and Restaurant.

My wife and I stayed a Raffles

My wife and I stayed a Raffles some years ago and it was a perfect experience. This time was different, not quite so special. Bathroom and dressing room had an unpleasant smell and the general impression of the quality was not surpassing any of the many places we have stayed in over the years. Sad but true.
